@@GBD-111 I used to work in marketing, so I'm going to be a bit of a devil's advocate here. As annoying as it is, asking viewers to subscribe and like tends to work. CTA (calls to action) is a standard business practice. It is refreshing to see channels like this where the focus isn't about money.

So glad to find your channel. This is so helpful to address internal issues through philosophy. It is so logical and drama free. In comparison, approaching through psychology can dredge up emotions and be messy. Even your quiet dog seems wise. Keep up your steady voice to draw people in and listen and learn.

This worked for me when I was burgled. First, to be honest, he tripped the alarm and hence didn't stay very long, and he committed no vandalism, and left no signs of anger. Had any of that happened, I might have reacted differently. Other people were more upset than I was. I was struck by how many said they would be so upset that a stranger was in their house, and would find it hard to be there after that. My response was, it's my house. I'm supposed to be there. He wasn't.

Some people get a perverse joy from stirring up trouble and hurting others. These people should be avoided. Don’t take their extreme statements to heart. It’s not worth it. We can discipline ourselves to react in ways that can build ourselves up, not tearing ourselves down.

Anger is a tough topic, even in philosophy. I feel like Aurelius's consolation presented in this video is especially good for single-case interactions, but less so for long-term relationships. If someone is hurting you continually, day after day, it's not wise to continue to expose yourself to that. And if allowing an interaction to sting will help you to move out of that relationship, then the pain was worthwhile.

Idk man... once a female exposed all of my insecurities in the most violent manner (loud and aggressive tone/body language ) to me in a language I did understand and that stuck with me for a few weeks. During the entire barrage of hurtful words I was repeating to myself "these are just words", but I kept relieving the trauma during the following days/weeks. Even now, months later sometimes a feint memory of this episode sparks back and I can just now start seeing it as something no longer connected to me. Good things came out of it though, I changed my life around, quit substance abuse and I'm a kinder person overall thanks to this hurtful B word.

"There is a link in between that your mind bridges," which is so important. Wow, we give meaning to how we choose to get offended. I really like the four agreements and the whole idea of never taking offense. But I have a hard time practicing it. This is a good presentation on an efficient level on how to consider this idea of not taking offense. Thank you.

I still am struggling with this. People online often seem not to read what you said or not to *consider* it, and they're often wrong, and then they call you delusional. If the charge is true, then it's true, but if it's not, then it's not, and I often find myself feeling like I have to fight against this charge. It feels like it could kind of seep into me, which I guess it *could* .

Hi from New Orleans! What are your thoughts on forgiveness? My dad was verbally and physically abusive for my childhood. I’m currently estranged from him because he won’t acknowledge this. I don’t even enjoy having an adult relationship with him because he’s so arrogant and self-centered. But most people say I should forgive him for my own peace. I feel this would only let him off the hook and irritate me. Thoughts?
@Flyingsnow4448 ай бұрын
Hello! Forgiveness will set you free from the prison of anger and heal your inner child..I have been through the same and had the same thoughts about not forgiving him..but I tried to forgive and it gave me so much peace and calm..you do not have to speak with him but just forgive him so that you start to heal yourself deeply..forgiveness brings about the love of God and He heals our soul with His mercy! Hope this helps you ❤
