Which one would you recommend running a marathon in - the surfer or the eclipse? Great first impressions video!
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I would personally choose the Cloudsurfer as it's a couple of ounces lighter. If someone was just looking for a comfortable shoe to get them through the miles, I would recommend going with the Eclipse and not worry about the extra weight

I'd be interested in more thoughts about the upper in your next review. A common complaint from reviewers is that it could be a better and more secure fit. On paper this shoe seems great but I bet the major change will be in the upper on version 2. Also this shoe was suppose to come out back in June.

3 runs in this shoe so far and no issues. I'll see if anything changes and address the upper in my full review.

How does it compare with the Triumph 20? Usually the energy return feel from the ON shoes is bad..
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
I've only tried a Triumph on in store. I thought they felt amazing but I haven't run in them so I can't make a fair comparison. For a max cushion shoe, the energy return is decent in the Cloudeclipse.

I got the Cloudsurfers on your recommendation and couldn't be happier. I'm close to wracking up 600km on them so starting to look for the next pair, maybe these ones!

Does the cloudsurfer bottom out at the forefoot? (Meaning you get groundfeel?)

Cloudmonster is a great shoe but I would pick the Cloudsurfer and Cloudeclipse over it.

Hi does the weight difference between this and cloudsurfer noticeable? and is this one more firmer? Love your review
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I wouldn't say the weight is noticeable. This one might feel slightly firmer just because of the speedboard on the very bottom, but overall it's still a soft shoe and it's very obvious there is a lot more midsole underfoot vs the Cloudsurfer.

Comparison to Cloudsurfer, which I just received. Was looking for an easy-run shoe for up to half marathon distance. How is the width and toebox compared to Cloudsurfer? Is the stability portion alone worth replacing over Cloudsurfer? They are much more expensive here in Europe, I got the surfers for 130 Eur.
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
Width and toebox is similar to the Surfer. If anything the new Eclipse might be slightly wider. I didn't find the stability of the Cloudsurfer to be an issue, so for me the stability of the new Cloudeclipse isn't a selling feature. I feel like if the Cloudeclipse didn't have the speedboard on the bottom, it would be too unstable because of the large stack height. I LOVED the Cloudsurfer and have recommended it to many people. It can easily handle up to half marathon distance. I would try those first and then if you want more cushion and are ok spending the extra money, get the Cloudeclipse.

Hey Dusty, how does this compare to the Cloud Stratus as a long distance/daily trainer?
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
I haven't run in the current Status but I have run in the previous versions. The Stratus uses traditional cloud pods and the Eclipse (more stack) uses the new Cloudtechphase and is softer. The speedboard in the eclipse is closer to the ground vs the Stratus, which might make it feel softer too. I believe the Eclipse weighs a bit less as well. I liked the Stratus but I definitely prefer the Cloudeclipse and Cloudsurfer.

Hey woruld you get the surfer for the eclipse for a daily trainer?
@RunningWithDusty
@RunningWithDusty Жыл бұрын
Tough call. I need more testing in the Eclipse before I can say one or the other. I love the extra cushion in the Eclipse, but I certainly didn't think the Surfer was lacking. As of right now I might tend to lean towards the Surfer because I think it can handle faster paces better and it's also a bit less expensive.
