Hello Alastair! Hope this message finds you well! I'm currently looking into purchasing these shoes, I suffer from metatarsalgia and I plan to buy the shoes to alleviate my pain. Do you think they'd be a good fit for me? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

Hey there 👋🏼 oh no these won’t be for you- the firm ride will no doubt agitate your metatarsalgia. You’d be better placed with a more supportive shoe with better cushioning until you can get it healed up. I’d recommend something like the Saucony Hurricane 24: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4fMkHZjj5uio5Ysi=TwB3CVI0eLr0uqEs - these are other great stability shoes I’ve reviewed: www.trailandkale.com/roundups/best-stability-running-shoes/

Hello! Hallux rigidus patient here, and I have feet that are a bit wide on the toes. Need something with a stiff forefoot to rock me forward and prevent toe extension. Toe box needs to be the widest possible with plenty of volume. Unfortunately no 2E sizes in my country. Oh and I do 95% walking, little to no running. I tried these at a retail store and they are perfect in terms of stiffness and how I like my cushioning, but I wish there was more width in the toebox (volume is good). Wondering if there’s another On shoe out there that can solve this without compromising on what worked for this model. Limited portfolio at the local store, so would need to order online

Hey Bruno! I think you narrowed your shoe choice down really well actually on you comment on my website (if you're looking to buy a pair of On's specifically). The Cloudeclipse does have a wide toe box and because of the plate it's also a stiff midsole. It's one of my top picks for wide running shoes: www.trailandkale.com/roundups/the-best-running-shoes-for-wide-feet/ and it's a top On Cloud for walking: www.trailandkale.com/roundups/best-on-cloud-shoes-for-walking/ - Hope this helps give you confidence that the Cloudeclipse is probably the right On for you! -Alastair

@@trailandkale I meant wide sizes not available! I did end up finding these models to try at different stores, and the cloudeclipse is the best choice. The cloudmonster is def wider at the toebox, but it felt awkward for walking. The only thing I found strange in the cloudeclipse is how there ZERO arch support. Waiting for Black Friday now lol

I tried them on at their running club in Berlin and I must say they were to stiff/hard for me. I am more used to softer shoes. Would you say they are softer than the Norda 001? I never had the chance to try them on and everyone say it’s quite a hard shoe.
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
Unfortunately I haven’t had any experience with the Norda 001. The cloudsurfer 7 feels a lot more cushioned, did you try them?
@vor_benАй бұрын
@@trailandkale okay, no only with the cloud monster hyper, they were super soft😅
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
The cloudsurfer feels even softer
@vor_benАй бұрын
@@trailandkaleokay that’s crazy. Maybe they break in a lot more over time. The pair I tested were brand new and I only ran with them for 7km.
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
I mean the cloudsurfer 7 is even softer. The ‘Next’ is very stiff

do you think these shoes would be good for casual wear, walking and hiking? is it stable and breathable and is the traction good enough?
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
There are better option out there for you needs for sure. You want a road to trail shoe that can handle stable walks and grip on off road surfaces. I’d recommend starting here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXSypIugZdSAmcUsi=h9GgdNvuqgZPWT3-

I’m afraid to get them because I would think over time it would collapse on itself from weight and pounding way faster than a regular running shoe. What do you think?
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
Actually the foam is very resilient, depending on weight I guess. But I have never noticed collapse on Cloudtec Phase midsoles before getting to the end of a shoe lifespan (400 miles or so).
@JakeAllen-w7kАй бұрын
@@trailandkale wow good to know, I’m not heavy but I’m pretty tall so I think it should be good. I have a lot of buddies who love this shoe but they’re shorter and lighter so I was a little sceptical. Thank you for your advice, I will probably go to a store soon and try them on

This or runner2 for running but also for walking either on weekends or in city break holiday? Also is this upper as roomy as the surfer 7 , which is really good
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
Hey 👋🏼 I think this one would be great for what you need it for. It fits a lot like the cloudsurfer 7

@@trailandkale Thanks. Would the hyper be also a good running and casual shoe or not?

What would be called a "super daily trainer"? Maybe something like a novablast 4?
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
No, some examples would be the Hoka Skyward X, the On Cloudmonster Hyper, and from the ASICS brand you’ve got the Superblast 2. A super trainer with ends to have a carbon plate, and a high stack height. They’re very versatile as they’re responsive, and cushioned - making them good for fast workouts and long runs. You can search for all of those on the channel to learn more about them ✌🏼

ON shoes especially the Cloudsurfers had some problems with squeaking noises after a while of using. So my question is does anyone have these Cloudsurfer Nexts and can tell me if they squeak? Thanks in advance!

I have them and they don’t squeak so far. I’m actually writing an article why this happens and how to fix it! I’ll make a video version too.
