Thank you for your comment 🙂 Ah, yes, black onyx, also one of my favourites. Its name derives from the Greek Onyx, Onychos, meaning fingernail, it is also attached to an interesting legend about Venus and Cupid, where Cupid cut of Venus's nails while she was asleep, with the sharp point of his arrow. Onyx crystal is mostly connected with Cancer zodiac sign and with Capricorn zodiac sign. The Onyx of Cancer is white or light coloured, while that of Capricorn is black. One author from the 17th century, noted an old belief that the onyx is congealed juice of a tree called Onychia. The 1st, 2nd, 10th, 11th, 12th, 28th and 29th degree of Cancer are considered to be under the influence of Onyx, and also under the planet Venus, so this is a stone of the warriors but also a stone of beauty and strength, as well as protective stone. These degrees can be cut in a piece of Onyx, and be worn as a talisman of a sort. In Arabic the stone is called El Jaza, meaning sadness, so for some this is a mourning stone. According to Feng Shui, Black Onyx, one of its uses is to create a strong foundation in a home or office, also for attracting financial gains and for that it should be placed in a bowl on a desk in a visible place. It is good to combine it with silver as it provides calmer energy. It can be discharged every two weeks under the running water or placed in the ground overnight. Of course there are other uses for Black Onyx, but even this is way too long of an answer :).
