also if it's your first gay relationship after having a straight relationship/relationships it hits different during and after...... At least IMO I feel like it's more emotional. Her moving on so fast she's been out longer so it's not new. This is a whole new situation, every break-up before to me was blah not emotional and I think it's because I was just doing what I thought was what my life was supposed to be. Being in my first gay relationship after coming out is so much more intense and emotional, and I was married to a man for 10 yrs and with him for 12 created 2 kid's before I came out at 29.... I'm now 42😭.... This is a whole new world to navigate 🌈

It may take a long ass time, but it's really nice to hear this advice from fellow lesbians because a lot of breakup advice I've gotten has been from my friends in hetero relationships, so hearing it from people in the same community as me has resonated much more strongly for me. 17:45 ish brought me to the realisation that I am extremely grateful for every day spent with someone that I have loved. The essential post-relationship change in perception comes with being thankful to the world, the universe with that thanks radiating from me, rather than being focused at someone else. This allows me to be open to love, should it come my way and gives me the satisfaction and stability to keep being awesome.

This discussion has been very helpful for me personally, and I'm very thankful to hear all of it. I'm not only going through the end of a marriage (a long and exhausting story), but I've also been haunted by past breakups that I honestly don't feel I've completely faced and resolved. Add in the fact that I'm getting older, seeing so many of the people I grew up with becoming fat, old & completely unrecognizable, the greater fear that it's just too late for relationships or love (there's simply nobody left, everyone my age is completely burnt out, etc), yadda yadda. So I have a lot of things to unpack and resolve in my mind. Being able to hear stories and experiences from other people is very helpful, and I'm very grateful for these women who are sharing their wisdom. One last quick thing: I just want to say that, as a father of a 2-year-old, I just want anyone out there who is gay, lesbian or transgender that I am very PROUD OF YOU. I am very thankful for you and I will always stand by you and support you completely. I hope your own parents are loving and accepting of you, and for those of you whose relationships with parents are more difficult, I hope that your mothers and fathers will come around and embrace you and love you unconditionally for who you are. We are all in this life together!
