Maybe it is only me, but I believe that Ritz really under achieved as a runner. Most of that could be attributed that Ritz always seemed to be injured or coming back from an injury.

I wouldn't say that, more that Ritz was a glass cannon. When he was on, he was brutally fast. But he required a coach with more finesse than he ever got. Salazar tinkered with his stride and broke him for awhile. Wetmore hit him with a huge amount of intensity and sidelined him. In all honesty, Ritz should have never moved up to the marathon since he wasn't suited for that kind of punishment.
