Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails are not criminals. Many are in “administrative detention,” without charge or due process and those who are charged are forced to sign plea deals to avoid years of intentionally prolonged trials and charges by military courts with a 95% conviction rate that are part of an Apartheid regime that handled the crimes of Israelis stealing their homes under a completely different system. They are all ultimately political prisoners held under an illegal system.

Exactly, thank you. Note also that Israel has "arrested" almost as many new "prisoners" as it has released over the period of the exchange arrangement. Also important to note that many of the released "prisoners" have been subject to torture and held in solitary confinement (itself a form of torture). I have a proposal to resolve the issue. The US should clear out the state of Delaware. Force them all to vacate the entire state. Then relocate the 5 million people from Palestine to the now empty state of Delaware. I figure Joe’s place alone should comfortably support about 1000 people. It was hard to hear the USA mans pro-Israel opinion, because it is so blind to the core problem in this situation and so blatantly (even cruelly) inconsiderate of what the Palestinian people want and need and should have. I'm so glad it was followed up with an opinion that is considerate of the Palestinian people. It is VERY obvious that the first step in a solution has to address the root cause of the problem. The root cause of all the violence, on both sides, is Israel's decades long occupation of Palestinian lands, and this has to completely stop. Israel has to pull out of the lands it invaded, at least back to the UN established 1967 boarders. Hasum Zomlot also makes a good stand on this and with setting the record straight on the facts.
