This is an excellent country "shuffle". Eddie wrote his own material and was an entertainer. It's one thing to play music for people it's quite another to entertain them. Rest in Peace, Brother Eddie.

Some-times a man does things without half thinkin' And what I saw I did not under-stand I called you names and said some things that hurt you And in the heat I started walkin' out that door But on second thought I'll just turn a-round in my Tracks And walk back into your arms where I belong --- I was Wrong On second thought I apologize for what I've done 'Cause you're the only one I'll always be in love with I know it's not your fault that you're so pretty And that you turn the head of every man --- I understand But when I saw you dancing with him I just lost it I started thinkin' I don't love you any more But on second thought I'll just turn a-round in my tracks And walk back into your arms where I be-long --- I was wrong On second thought I apologize for what I've done 'Cause you're the only one I'll always be in love with But when I saw you dancing with him I just lost it I started thinkin' I don't love you any more But on second thought I'll just turn a-round in my tracks And walk back into your arms where I be-long --- I was wrong On second thought I apologize for what I've done 'Cause you're the only one I'll always be in love with Yes you're the only one I'll always be in love with

In the late 1980s, Eddie Rabbitt discovered his inner Dave Edmunds and basically reinvented himself. I saw him in concert in 1988, not long after his I Wanna Dance With You album was released, and he was phenomenal. And in response to those who took issue with his earlier singles not doing the genre justice from a purist perspective, he came up with this "Take that!!" single that is arguably his finest moment. He is greatly missed.

He also wrote Kentucky Rain which Elvis recorded. Eddie was brilliant!

@@brianskirvin5221 And the great Shirl Milete composed the flip side of that 45 (My Little Friend). Suffice to say that Elvis Presley drew from the best.

I just love this song by Eddie. A great traditional sound. Particularly enjoy the overall musical arrangement and that second break when the steel takes it. It is best heard on the recorded version. RIP Eddie.
