Thank you Ptr Joe for being honest throughout your vlogs. Especially your insights about where you made mistakes or wrong advice in the past. And that you're sorry about those, too. It's just really encouraging to hear that from a church leader.

Having many non-Christian friends, I’ve come to understand that self-love basically means “giving yourself the love you feel like you deserve,” or even self-worship, and it’s interesting to learn now that some fellow Christians define self-love to be synonymous with receiving God’s love or being aware of one’s worth in God’s eyes. I personally think it’s still better for me to stay away from the term when referring to receiving God’s love because of how crystallized the secular definition is for the majority of the people I interact with, and there isn’t always enough time to have a nuanced discussion or clarify definitions especially with people who aren’t at the point of making the leap into a theistic worldview yet. But this video was good in helping me understand that some fellow Christians are not always referring to the secular definition when using the term. Thank you!

I felt God spoke to me through your words, Pastor Joe! Thank you for reminding me to find love not on other people but to the One who is the very source and Origin of it, to find love in God and God alone. Sometimes we could be blind with all our pain and brokenness that we fail to see how much God loves us. I need God's love everyday not just for me to love myself but for me to best love those whom God has entrusted for me to love.

Definitely one of those vlogs I’ll remember for a long time. Reminded again and again of God’s love through Jesus. Even though we don’t deserve His love, He showed that we are worth it. (Enough to make one cry 😭) I praise God for your life, Pastor Joe! 🙏🏼

Thank you for this vlog, Pastor Joe! I spent my childhood and teenage years hating on myself. I used to think that I was a burden and that I would never be good enough. Jesus changed this perspective when He came to my life. He showed me how He sees me and taught me how to love myself the way He loves me. This kind of love is what I (try to) share to others as well. It's definitely not an easy path to take but so worth it.

Hi Joe, this is my first time watching your vlog and I commend you on the symmetry of your illustrations. I have a question tho - it might be unrelated or messed up thoughts - You mentioned about Carla being an introvert, I am an introvert, too BUT I always disagree with the idea of it because I think - God is gracious in every personality and therefore, being an introvert or extrovert even ambivert can limit us from unleashing God’s destiny and might lead us to conformity according to its definition and worldview. Help me understand the beauty of somehow psychology without missing our disposition to God. Would that be possible? Thank you~

I love this discussion. I think sin can be seen din kasi as violence resulting from our desires for things we cannot get eh, and God alleviates that tension, resolves that violence, by reminding us how much love he has for us even before we can think of deserving it or not, done through the arrival of Jesus Christ.

I used to really think of self-love cringing as well, but this has helped me think of it in another light. Finally, Gospel-based view on it because by my own, I can't find someone to discuss it with. But that line: "Love is most experienced when it is least deserved." I'll revise something I just wrote haha
