He was Ambal upasakkar. Every Fullmoon day during late sixties he will play flute at his Thiruvarur house in the evenings. Sometimes it’s will go till next day early mornings. Sri. Venkataramani, mirudangist from Mayavaram once took me and I was fortunate to hear it till early morning. Flute at night with divine atmosphere is still lingering in my mind and ears. Thanks for kindling my sweet memories. Mangalani bhavanthu

It's Not Only that Purse, But, your Heart is also immensely full with his memories as we could feel it Sir the way expressed your experience with him. We equally cherish your association with Flute Ramani Sir. During my early 20's I got attracted towards this Carnatic Music more by listening to instrumental music only that of Maestros T Chowdiah's Violin, N Ramani's Flute, U Srinivas's Mandolin, Chittibabu's VeeNa play, Kadri Gopalnath's Sax and Namagiripettai Krishnan's Nadhaswaram. These were the Entry Passes to me to peep into the Carnatic Music Genre and that curiosity slowly developed into an intense interest which gradually evolved as a passion to listen to Vocal Music too keenly. I believe, the Krithi as well as the Raagaa Gaana Moorthy (VeNu Gaana Moorthy)has been specifically & aptly designed for Flute Play. I savour it, rejoice it very much quite frequently, not only in the flute, but also in MLV's Voice.. Thanx for reminding. I am just now about to listen to it only. With kind Regards, Advance Deewali Greetings to you and everyone in your family & all in your circle. 🙏 Hari Raam.

Hope all viewers too will experience the same. ☺ Since childhood I have been a big fan of yours. These accounts of Sanjay are so wonderful and informative. Sanjay is a great narrator. I was shocked, however, to hear Ramani Sir's comment over Flute Mali's status as a genius. While all the top Carnatic musicians of his era (plus all his other sishyas) all seem to agree that Flute Mali was one of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century, Ramani Sir seems to think otherwise. I don't get Sri Ramani's point. Yes, even geniuses have to do the initial hard work - that is a prerequisite, but that does not make them less of a genius.
@sooryag8769
@sooryag8769 4 ай бұрын
I do not think Ramani sir disagrees with the fact that Mali was a genius. The fact that TRM's genius was accompanied by a lot of hard work is probably what he intended to convey.
