Great interview. As a Queenslander I loved to watch Blocker play especially in State of Origin.

Seen Steve playing for balmain tigers, what a great forward, should have won the grand final in 1988&9 , I fell in love with rugby league when I stayed in Australia back in the late eighties. 🏉🐅🇮🇪

Wasn't a Balmain fan but always had massive respect for Blocker. Not just tough but skillful. Qld did too. Gene Miles said they didn't like playing against Brett Kenny or Blocker. Love to have a beer or 10 with him.

Awesome, hard and fair within the rules of the day, absolutely solid man. What a example, I wish young NRL players today would spend the time to learn.

ive been a mad chookies fan my whole life but gees i loved those balmain forwads of the 80's. Roach, sirro, brooks, pearcey.

As a Pom I remember Blocker on the Kangaroo tours. He was a great player and even in them days he reminded me of the props from the 60's. Tough as hell and could play some as well. A throwback player type that is missing unfortunately from the modern game.

I love watching the test matches as a kid. I look back now and realize we still had that chip on our shoulder to show we were as good as the Old Dart. Since then though, we have been unbeatable, aside from Tonga and the odd Kiwi win. They have to grow international and europe/russia is the place, not the USA.

I played against Blocker in the 70's as a captain of Dapto in the U15's. Steve along with the Wests team of Garry Jack, Mitchel Jones and Mick Dubious were undefeated premiers...Much respect.

Toughness and grit is what makes League the greatest game. I don’t love governing body of NRL, they are a joke. But the game is awesome 😎 and about making boys men.
