When this is over and the whole truth is revealed, the vast majority of the Russian people will say "We didn't know!". Well, that might have been true for many Germans, but you have the internet. My tax dollars at work, and my only complaint is that we can't send more, faster. I have a feeling when this is over Ukraine will be teaching the USA a bit about freedom. There is no stronger proponent for freedom than a person who just fought a horrible war for it and lost many good friends. I have so much respect for Ukraine and what they are going through. Lightly armed Ukrainians alone fought with the army of USSR for 10 years (1943-1953), while having neither rear territory, nor any support from other countries... Calculate the odds of that. In this war that was ~900 Ukrainian tanks against ~2300 Russian ones. That's more like a joke, not even really a war; Russia has been doomed from day-1. The only problem currently is some lack of artillery (due to overuse of guns), shells, and Russian rockets hitting civilian objects.

The war is also fairly mobile in some stretches of the front and the front itself is all bendy and twisted so the threat of the enemy is still very high. Going there as press is still dangerous, and it is a brave move. Being a combatant is arguably more so, but it doesn't make it less brave to be the press.
