the vehicles at your pick-a-part are in better shape than the stuff we drive in upstate N.Y.
@forreststrong7972 жыл бұрын
I have 2 pick-n-pulls in my area about the same distance I've also noticed they don't have many xj's anymore. I've shopped pick-n-pull for many years for xj parts I've been collecting interior parts and just everything xj for years I've had a ton of them and just recently I've started to buy more complete vehicles to have around for parts and stuff because the wrecking yard just isn't getting them and the prices are through the roof it used to be I'd only buy vehicles to build and i already have everything but now that i cant replenish my stash as much im looking to go about things a little differently. Everytime I fix up an xj I look for a nice body and I usually do mechanical and interior stuff I always like to fix up the interior nice. On our personal xj's or friends I like to add different options and stuff I have my preference of everything and mix and match limited model and Laredo or even base model stuff or renix era interior stuff, it's a lot of fun. There's some stuff that's seriously hard to find in usable shape nowadays for an xj. I usually stick to the 91-95 stuff especially recently because those are my favorite years to build. There used to be as many xj's as you see grand cherokees in the wrecking yard just aisles of them and I'm super picky on what condition my parts are in so recently I've only gotten hardware and little things

I almost did a similar ram air build on my Dak when I seen your previous vids on the current setup you've got, now I'm excited to see what you do this time. Thanks for the info on the app, I'll definitely check it out as I'm always looking for stuff for my Dak and possible mods. Those chips in the hood are an easy fix and a touch up oem paint pen and a good buff and polish it'll look like new.... of course after you dothe new ram system of course 🤣✌🤘😎🤘

Yeah the new Ram Air is gonna look pretty cool, it will be made from aluminum and a conical shaped filter.

Hey Martin , I have been a subscriber to your channel for the past couple of years and watch your often , and I admire the nice neat work that you do . You are very knowledgeable when it comes to things on the jeep WJ model . So I was wondering if maybe you could help me out with some information . My son in law has a 2001 WJ with the duel climate control electronic heating and AC system , and we are having trouble with it Shorting / Blowing out the Relay / Resistor Module under the dashboard on the passenger side under the glove box that controls the blower motor . What happens is the Model gets a Short in it and then the Heater/ AC controls on the dashboard won't turn off , and the Blower Motor won't stop Running , unless we remove the fuse for the blower from the fuse box from under the hood . The Relay / Resistor Module has been replaced twice so far and so has the plug / pigtail wires that go to it . Have you ever had , or have you ever seen this problem ? Each time we replaced it , it will work perfectly fine for several weeks before the problem happens again . If you know anything about these systems and possibly have any answers that may help please send me back a message ,. or heck if you have the time maybe even make a video or two on it , cause I am willing to bet that Jeep made a lot of these and someone else is probably seeking the same answers I am . Thank you for all your videos . Tim from Wisconsin .

Don't have much experience with climate control. I would inspect the wiring, and maybe replace the climate control. Could find a climate control at the salvage yard for around $25

I just got my 2000 WJ back from the body shop after being hit by a flying pop up tent that flew off of a Toyota 4 runner last summer. It hit just about the middle of the drivers door about 2 inches down from the glass. It took out both doors and damaged the quarter panel. I was glad I was wearing glasses as they was glass everywhere in the jeep. It is the same color as the the wj you showed patriot blue. Sadly it needs a few more hours to finish the doors. But I needed it for work. Now I can get back to my 500 $ dakota. I will pull the heads and while waiting for them I will change the oil pump and pan. It dropped the the number 2 intake seat because the radiator cap went bad. It was kind of strange that it was almost hydro locked with gas in the number 2 cylinder. When I got it home I pulled the shroud and the fan. Then I used a ratchet and I could roll the engine over backwards non stop. But when rotating the direction it runs it would lock up. After I pulled the spark plug it freed up. So I got it started and I shocked it did not seem to have any blow by. It has 255.000 on the odometer. It will make a good farm pickup. It was nice when it was new being a quad cab laramie. Thank you for another nice video.

Hey Martin, I'm located in Salt Lake and I drive a 2004 Laredo WJ. We have 3 large salvage yards here in the valley that are full of those WJs. The one I was at over the weekend has 18 in it. Come up here and grab some junk yard gold or hit me up and tell me what you need.

I have a question about a 4.7 magnum engine, a friend of mine has a 2009 dodge with the 4.7 dual spark plug engine, we couldn't find a dual spark plug at our local wrecking yard, I did find a 2007 4.7 with the single spark plug 4.7, we pulled that 1, my question can we put his dual spark plug cylinder heads on that engine that came with the single spark plug, I know the knock sensors are in different places but I think I can work around that.
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do that you are gonna lose compression. You're gonna go from 9.8 to 8.74 approximate. That could be as much as 50 horsepower.

I know this doesn't pertain to this video,but I have an 04 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 ho.I just put a trans cooler on it.And even with that the engine temp still runs 210-220 and up.This scares me.I live in lake havasu where it gets hot af!Is there anything I can do to bring the temp down?
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yes the transmission cooler will help a lot to cool the transmission but unfortunately the hydraulic cooling fan is keeping the engine temperature up. That is the design of the hydraulic cooling fan the whole idea is awesome but they don't work like they're supposed to. I replaced mine with the electric fan from a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.9 Now the engine doesn't get above 200 ever.

@@brownwrench yes some of what they charge a core for is odd. I understand for alternators, starters, PS pumps, transmissions, and engines but for a hood or intake manifold, really.

Faulty A/C Pressure Sensor A/C Pressure Sensor harness is an open or shorted A/C Pressure Sensor electrical circuit with poor electrical connection. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
