Apbassing, The Wooded Beardsman and I headed out to spend 5 days (of what turned out to be more survival than just camping) on Sunset Lake in Vermont. We wanted to do it more bushcraft-style camping, building shelters, and sleeping on spruce bows in front of a central fire. But just like any good plan, it fell apart when we showed up at our destination and found the lake had 3 inches of slush on it. According to the weather report, it was not likely that the conditions would change, so we made the best of it and set up a shelter with tarps and cots and hammocks. This kept us out of the slush when sleeping, but the rest of the time, it was a task to move around, like always walking on a soft sandy beach. We brought some food, but mostly just ingredients to add to our meals, so we needed to catch fish to round out the dinners. Once again, plans and reality didn't line up exactly as we had hoped, but we still managed to have some fun!

awesome enjoy just rember to keep it clean dont leave it in the sink. Its very hard steel so it tarnises ealily if left wet. I oil mine whenever i sharpen. and alway wasy it and dry it after uses.

The best part of this video is just watching friends out enjoying each other’s company. That ice igloo; Zac your crazy. I only say that because I’m from MN and I know in those temperatures it seems like everything you do gets a bit harder. I’m glad your friend that took a dip was ok and had a dryer close by or that could have been bad. I think maybe your igloo idea was really to get your body moving to generate heat. Watching your vids is always an adventure in its self.

Nice video Zach 👍. That an't that cold, I lived in Sudbury Ontario 🇨🇦, some winters got down to -40 with the wind chill 🥶. We had to add extensions too are ice orgers, as the ice would be over 3ft thick 😲.
