"Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front - tactical battalion level combat simulation. It is a sequel to Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star and Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.
Game is comprised of two modes:
Operational - turn-based mode where you can shift and concentrate forces in the chosen directions, resupply and replace units, repair and refuel vehicles.
Tactical - real-time mode where you are conducting fire combat with the enemy, capturing territory, destroying vehicles and the enemy manpower.
Four large-scale operations for the Red Army and Wehrmacht with realistic organizational structure. The campaign features more than 100 detailed vehicles produced in USSR, Germany, US and UK. Over 140 sq. km of realistic landscapes were reconstructed from topographical maps and photo and video materials.
-New enhanced UI: streamlined interface of various panels, radial orders menu and other enhancements.
-Interface appearance and customization: three variants of appearance are included, customizable unit markers (Red Army, Wehrmacht, NATO).
-High replayability and advanced AI, which selects the best strategy based on behavior, not a predetermined script.
-Advanced management of forces in the operational phase: reinforcement strategies and management of reserves.
-Statistics keeping: performance of each unit is recorded (kills, losses, awards, etc.). After each battle, damages and condition of forces and vehicles are shown in the after battle statistics.
-Battlefield simulation: realistic vision devices, smoke screens and flares, creation of trenches, explosion craters. Remnants of previous battles remain on the battlefield until the end of operation.
-Realistic soldier behavior: each soldier has several essential parameters, such as experience level, stamina and morale, which influence their behavior and effectiveness.
-Detailed weapon modeling and realistic ballistics: bullets and projectiles follow ballistic trajectories, taking wind, temperature and other parameters into account.
-Advanced armor penetration: modeling based on ballistic histograms without simplifications of probabilistic methods, generation of secondary fragmentation fields takes into account many parameters, such as the change of the field shape in space, fragments and armor characteristics, armor thickness and damage conditions.
-Complex vehicle damage system: engine, suspension, sights, weapons and targeting mechanisms can be damaged separately, affecting the combat capabilities.
-Destructible environment: almost everything can be blown up and destroyed, from landscape surface and buildings to vehicles and enemy defensive installations.
-Advanced control of the off-map artillery, featuring various fuse settings and shell types.
-Formation and movement modes: lines and columns, movement by road and covertly, infantry following behind tanks, setting a delay, fire sectors, etc.
-Automatic smoke screen laying: units set up smoke screens when enemy is spotted.
-Dynamic change of the time of day, light sources and weather effects, influence the course of battle, visibility and area passability."

@@Tonci87 Slepino, Maximovka and Mishkino are in exact same location as they are now, Slepino seems like it is a bit bigger now. I didn't really look at the whole map, but it seems really close. Even the whole sinery on the battle map! Obviosly it looks different now, but still very much recognizable

As a WW2 warfare historian I am impressed) This is the most accurate strategy game I`ve ever seen. I would say this is ridiculously accurate. How everything in this game is shown...everything performs like in actual combat, like you see it from the drone. I didn`t expect such game exist)

You do a beautiful job at showing off the incredible level of detail that has been programmed into the Graviteam Tactics SIM, and I really enjoy your approach to this series as you demonstrate how to use all the SIM has to offer. From studying the map, to giving commands as each battle progresses, well done! I have only started learning the various aspects of this amazing title, but for anyone who appreciates game developers with a real focus on attention to detail, Graviteam Tactics is sure to please.

Back to the Ost Front!!! I've been eagerly waiting for a series like this. To be honest although I enjoyed the North Africa series, it the Eastern Front that I have more interest in. Really looking forward to seeing how this campaign turns out. Keep up the good work, Tonci87! Drang nach Osten!

It would be cool if IA react to what happens near them when not fighting, for exemple, in a custom battle in the Zarat-Mareth map in Tank warfare Tunisia 1943, one of my soldier died on a mine, and all the other soldiers doesn't cared about him, no medical assistance, not even alert or lie down on the ground. Maybe it is complicated to program but i would love to see that in game

@@mcsmash4905 Yeah, in Combat Mission the buddies will aid the fallen solder and take up his gun and ammo , which is very important if the casualty is the squad's heavy weapon

@@tiagok1842 in gt soldiers will also take wrapons from the enemy or their own dead/wounded and for some reason you can turn that off while the wounded just lay still on the floor until its over

Well that's quite a change going from Croatian Legion to this - I think you've got 10 times as many soldiers now! Really awesome battle so far. I'm still working on the Croatian Legion DLC myself, but I'm having fun with it while relearning the game. I really like the new artillery system, though I still screw up with forgetting to utilize the "planned only" stuff way too often >.>

I have been watching all your Graviteam series, i love it,learned a lot of it from watching you series and use also the mods you recommend You could maybe if i may say so that you may take look at you camera settings they seem a bit to sensitive when you are turn to another unit/or position it feels a bit to fast (abrupt movement/turns) But I hope you keep doing this series its really entertaining!! Thank you!!

This might be because I´m mostly using the keyboard to move the camera, not the mouse. I´ll try to make it a bit smoother :)

@@Tonci87 maybe its a setting i was trying things out this evening and find if you change the settings in Options->Interface setting ---> keep camera acceleration enabled and lower the camera movement and rotation speed to -->3 or 4 it's a lot smoother

Playing this as the soviets is capital D difficult but the pain and suffering you can inflict on the attacking force is monumental. Before all your guns go black on ammo. Got to work out if it’s replenishment rules or true to real life Soviet artillery units have what’s on the limber only and a resupply in 1942. Found the 45mms firing a lot of smoke as opposed to anything you’d actually want them shooting.

I've played this same campaign, but with the Soviets. I can tell you it was very hard to hold the line against the german panzers specifically. It really sucked not to have an appropriate answer for them and them coming from all possible directions while myself having too little AT capabilities. The forests saved my ass a few times for sure.

Finally, the new campaing! The new artillery system looks very interesting. I wonder how the mortars that come with infantry squads are working. And how do you make tanks and infantry execute their orders by the time marker?

Tonci87 made a video about squadleader and how they direct mortar fire. Above your unit icons of your UI you see an hourglas. With the hourglas you can set timestamps.

Hi Tonci, can I ask what settings you use as there don't appear to be enemy markers. Is there a way to play whereby the game shows only friendly unit markers? Great videos by the way.

It is possible to play with unit markers enable, but I don´t know if you can have friendly markers only. I don´t think so

Hey Great battle and video!! Might I make a recommendation? Move the microphone a little further away from your mouth - it is sensitive enough to pick up all the 'mouth' sounds you make while talking :P

It is in fact a bit more complicated than that. I have to increase the Audio level of the microphone while editing the video. I´m still in the process of finding a good balance. I´ll keep trying though, and I will move it a bit away :)

You can set delayed orders for your units, so that those are executed after a defined number of minutes has passed. I did that during the initial orders phase before the start of the battle. :)

Ich habe das Gefühl, als wäre die Infanterie seit dem letzten Patch zu empfindlich eingestellt. In meinen Schlachten laufen auch ständig die Soldaten weg, was vorher äußerst selten geschah. Die "Gefecht Nachhaltigkeit" geht recht schnell auf 0%. Mir ist nur nicht klar, was damit genau gemeint ist. Ist damit der Verschleiß von Truppen und Material gemeint? Oder der Zusammenhalt innerhalb der jeweiligen Truppe? Auf jeden Fall geht dieser Wert sehr schnell runter und wenn man Glück hat, erholt sich der Wert schnell wieder. Wie man den Wert erhöhen kann, ist mir nicht bekannt. Selbst wenn ich den Anführer immer schön bei den angreifenden Soldaten in der Nähe habe, ist die "combat sustainability" sehr schnell im Keller.

Combat sustainability war früher ein gemeinsamer Wert mit Moral. Die Entwickler haben es irgendwann abgetrennt, aber vielleicht den Namen etwas doof gewählt. Im Grunde handelt es sich bei dem Wert um den Kampfeswillen (das wäre ein besserer Name gewesen) der Einheit. Der Wert sink, je länger die Einheit feindlichem Feuer ausgesetzt ist, und wenn Sie Verluste erfährt. Der Wert sinkt schneller, wenn die Einheit eine niedrige Moral und ein niedriges Command Level hat, oder in der Nähe andere panischer Einheiten ist. Sinkt der Wert zu sehr, flieht die Einheit. Eine stabile Verbindung zu einem Kommandanten, bzw. dessen Gegenwart, lässt den Wert langsamer fallen. Der anfängliche Wert wird je nach Erfahrung und Moral der Einheit festgelegt. Ich denke mal das Ziel der Entwickler war es darzustellen, dass Einheiten die mit einer hohen Moral oder sehr viel Erfahrung in die Schlacht gehen, nicht so leicht zu brechen sind wie demoralisierte und unerfahrene Rekruten.

@@Tonci87 Aha... habe ich mir gedacht. Du hast nicht die Beobachtung gemacht, dass die Einheiten wesentlich früher die Flucht ergreifen? Mir kommt es nämlich so vor. Zumindest laufen die Truppen gefühlt recht früh weg gegenüber damals. Ich halte meine Truppen immer zusammen und dennoch ist es sehr oft äußerst schwierig eine Verteidigungsstellung zu halten oder einen Angriff zu führen... auch wenn die eigenen Truppen zahlenmäßig überlegen sind. Ich achte mal mehr auf den Kontext mit der Moral. Vielleicht habe ich ja durch einen dummen Zufall immer die Frischlinge in die Schlacht geschickt. :-)

@@sirhurl Habe vor kurzem mit wieder mit Tank Warfare Tunesia angefangen (beide Gameengines sind laut Entwickler auf gleichen Update) und musste ebenfalls feststellen, dass 'Panik' wesentlich häufiger vorkommt als vor dem letzten Update. Und die Qualität der Truppen der 10.PzDiv dort ist eigentlich nicht schlecht. Muss also was dran sein an der Beobachtung. ;)

@@blueinmotion9438 Ich schaue auch gerade zu, wie meine Truppen fliehen (habe das Spiel gerade laufen). Kaum haben sie Feindkontakt beginnt das große Zittern, ob die Einheiten fliehen...oder nicht. Längere Schusswechsel enden recht schnell damit, dass meine Mannen fliehen. Dabei macht es keinen Unterschied, ob ich meine Truppen in einem großen Verbund kämpfen lasse, der Commander der Truppen in der Nähe sind oder ob meine Truppen aus der Deckung heraus feuern (Häuser, Gräben, usw.).

I'll be honest. I have trouble watching pixeltruppen kill each other and level buildings when I have a real war with tens of thousands of casualties next door.

Understandable. I too struggled with the question if it is OK to play such a game when the war started. You will get to those episodes that I released near the end of February, where I talk about that topic. I struggled with the question if I should continue playing this. Ultimately I decided to continue because of two things. The Devs are from Charkow, their lives have been impacted in ways that we can not imagine. Still they are continuing to work on this game, improving it. If I can support them a little bit by bringing attention to their amazing game, then this is the least I can do. Furthermore I believe that this game portrays quite well that war is brutal, awful and a horrible waste of human lives. That´s why we feel that discomfort after all. This needs to be understood by everybody and I believe that this game helps to achieve this. There are no heroes among my Pixeltruppen. They are all completely interchangeable and expendable.
