My thoughts also, as they would be something that interest people and it would show, that the LFB do more than put out fires.

What rank is one stripe in the lfb now? Used to be a leading fireman but that rank went in the 2000s I thought. Most brigades have a watch manager old station officer rank and maybe two crew managers old sub officer rank watch depending.

You don’t need the naff library music running under everything, especially as the sound quality is pretty poor. Some of the vox pops by firefighters are almost inaudible.

What happens tones sounds during training/when all the equipment is out? Is it just stuff everything back into the engine as fast as everyone can and turn out?

Where I am yes. Some things you can leave. Shiny things get taken standpipe, ladder and branch etc. but things that aren’t totally essential can be left like 45/70mm hose.

The Firefighters from Soho turn up quite often to where I live and I am no where near their ground. Trouble is now they take 15 minutes to arrive and you get 8 engines a rescue and ladder all turn up at once. I live in Hackney and the last fire in my block Paddington/Lambeth/Soho/Old Kent rd all arrived 15 minutes + and not a local engine to be seen .....Why ? - The Station closures and engine removals in this Area have affected response times. LFB needs more investment -

Yes it was, he was station officer of the red watch. I became red watch station officer a while after Kings Cross. It was the best watch I ever served with during my time, such a close knit watch with some excellent firefighters.

@@Dave-dm7vt We are talking about a 24 hour day, not just a day shift, I have a book at home titled City Ablaze by Martin Lloyd Elliot, It details the History of Soho Fire Station, the Author actually rode with them for many shifts to take details and Photos. It actually lists the calls attended by the station on 2 seperate 24 hour periods, obviously going back a bit, in one of those periods the Station attended 52 calls, I think the other period was 48. Most of them were for the T/L going to other Station Grounds, and there were a lot of AFA's. there were several multi pump incidents as well. I remember queuing for the Theatre over the road a few years ago and in the space of 15 minutes all 3 Appliances were turned out to separate calls
