On the Wrist, from off the Cuff: Monta - Skyquest; Coke or Pepsi, which Swiss GMT is for you?

I have the Coke, and this is a lot of watch for the money. The finishing is fantastic and is beyond its price point and can hang with many mid luxury watch brands. The star of the show to me is the bracelet and clasp. The bracelet, IMO, is better than most and on par with, if not better than Rolex. Each link fully articulates and it absolutely melts on the wrist. That beautiful tapper from 20 to 16 also greatly assists in wearability. The clasps microadjust is smooth and how it clicks into place to lock is very satisfying. I love both Omega and GS, but they need to take notes on how Monta does bracelets. If Monta can do it, they should be doing it too.

I’ve got the Coke as well and was going to comment, but realized Bryant said everything I was going to say but better. The value in this makes TAG Heuer look positively insulting in price.

So true ! I'm very picky with bracelets and Monta bracelets are top notch. Way better than Omega. As good as Tudor and Rolex.

Great video! I was lucky enough to get the limited edition opeline Pepsi from the only brick and mortar store they sell from ((St Louis). It’s really cool. It’s a fun watch to own. Very versatile. I can wear it on the lake, and business casual at work.

just as a heads up, the 1st gen Skyquest also had a matte bezel insert, and it wasnt aluminum. Thats why some folks were baffled as to why they would not use the same matte ceramic here.

Are you sure? I'm only seeing matte used on aluminum inserts, they had glossy black ceramic inserts, then did a limited run of bi-color matte aluminum, and carried those forward to this latest iteration.

Love the watches snd want s monta. But why is this not considered a homage watch. Sure looks like a rolex gmt to me . Not that, that is bad thing

I mean, really the only thing is has in common is that it uses a bi-color bezel layout. Every other detail is quite intrinsic to Monta's own signature design language. Most commonalities are due to the nature of being a wristwatch, 12hrs = 12 dial indexes, 24hr scale can only be depicted so many ways, short hour hand, long minute, slim seconds, eye catching GMT hand etc.

Probably the most expensive micro brand that I know of. Heard the "old" Skyquest was better than this one. It's pretty subjective though.

Don’t buy into the hype and don’t waste your money. Purchased the gilt Pepsi and the first one I received had scuffs and dirt on the interior of the watch box, had a faulty crown that wouldn’t engage and the whole dial moved when pulling out the crown. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked for a replacement to be sent. The second one had a noisy rotor that could be heard and felt and ran at -20 sec / day. They did ultimately give me a refund but there response was a bit backhanded as they basically said “I’m sorry that you’re sorry” instead of owning their mistakes. They also failed to publish my two star review on their website. Engaging in review censorship is unacceptable.They should stick to make watch straps for other watch brands that actually know how to make watches.

They might be good, but at $2435, for a micro brand?? There are a few that are just as good just as well finished at half that price! Sorry not for me, seems to go against everything micro brands are supposed to stand for.

I wish you showed us a better view of the case back. It looks like they've decorated the movement a bit, no? The SW 330 in my GMT performs very well, but, is not decorated at all. I would've liked to see what 3× the cost of my watch buys!
