Thank you, Kieran. You didn't specifically focus on new additions in your video, and even ON1's website isn't really clear about it. They praise the new AI masking, but the masking in Portrait AI 2022 was great as well. Can you think of additions to the 2023 version which would make an upgrade worthwhile? I only purchased Portrait AI 2022 6 weeks ago, and they don't have a grace period, just a small discount for existing users. I would love to see more tutorials on ON1 Portrait AI 2023 with all the additional features like the different brushes. Cheers!

Hello Andreas, thanks you too. I personally thought the skin retouching was a step ahead of the 2022 version, and it just seemed to perform a bit better all around. Nothing specifically jumps out at me to say wow you have to get it for this specific reason though. I t just seems to be a bit more finessed and the AI Masking seems to work really well also. I think I need to pop the same images into 2022 and compare it directly to 2023 and see if there really is a huge difference. I am surprised they won't give you a free upgrade, have you confirmed that with them? I can check into that for you. If you email me the dates of when you bought it and the email address its registered too and I can try and chase that up for you and maybe get you a free upgrade. You can email me at info@kieranhayesphotography.com

Kieran, is this part of on1 photo raw? I'm considering purchasing photo raw 2023 to edit my fotos. I primarily take pictures of my Children's sports to share with their teammates. baseball, volleyball , soccer. I also take a lot of family action fotos, and like to print portraits of my Children. This looks like a great program, and I really appreciate the time you spend to explain everything. Thank you so much!

Hi Mike, Thanks for the kind words. So to answer your question.... Yes, Portrait editing facilities are built into Photo Raw 2023, now the big question here is will this new version of Portrait AI 2023 be built into Photo Raw 2023 in the near future as it is launched I don't honestly know for absolute certain as of yet... but I would presume it would be. Sorry if that's a bit of a vague answer but in short there are editing tools built into Photo Raw 2023. Why not try a free trial and see how you get on? You can see how well it works for you and get a good feel of it then too. If you go onto buy it then I have a 20% off discount code too to save you a bit of money. Detail in the description of this video. Alternatively I am giving away 3 free copies of Photo Raw 2023 atm so check out my last video and why not enter the free giveaway :-)

I have nothing but issues with this software. It locks up if I open a jpg, I get no image. If I use it as a plugin with affinity and it is not just a head shot it rotates the orientation and does not edit correctly. If it is just a head shot, works great... Otherwise so far I find it rather useless junky software.

Sorry to hear you have only ever had problems with it. That has not been my experience with the software. Did you reach out to ON1? They are generally very good. I am using it on windows 10 with a fairly high spec machine up to date gpu drivers and it works really well for me anyway.

Why a Bell’s Palsy subject

Hi Ron, I appreciate what you are saying but it was just a look she was pulling. Think it grabs peoples attention as in what's going on there kind of a thing. Marketing is everywhere these days :-)

@@kieranhayesphotography well it is a great depiction of Bell’s Palsy which is a dreadful neurological condition that is sadly more common these days. BTW I was not trying to be rude nor funny. I was genuinely curious and thought the video was a subtle way to recognize the condition.

@@mdpain Hi Ron, thanks for the clarification. It's often times the issue with social media posts that we miss the tone the comment was made in amd we have to decifer it ourselves then. Which we often don't get right sadly. Happy Halloween 🎃

Thanks for the understanding, I could of communicated more clearly. I am a physician who treats these conditions and a budding photographer (more of nature).
