You can clearly see especially in that downhill esses section that they’re being very cautious. Which is understandable with no car experience and no relevant sim experience for this track. And also the lack of FE experience overall. I’d love to see them all do a full 4 or so day test and then compare the times to the men at the end. But even that wouldn’t be fair due to that lack of higher power and torque car experience for basically all of them.

How many women are realistically good enough to get F1 tests, let alone in current equipment? To have a chance at a real drive you need a superlicense and I don't think any women are eligible, just don't score enough points in their championships?

@@Cloxxki I think given Ragunathan could pay for an F1 test, there's plenty women good enough. It's just a matter of putting them in a car. See no reason why F1 couldn't organise something post season in Abu Dhabi to go alongside the young drivers test.

Has it been reported why the women were 3-4 seconds off the pace of the men, in what was promoted to be uniquely equal equipment?

Lack of experience? Not wanting to push? Not having the confidence to push due to lack of experience? Skill issue?

Because the women only had 1 session, and the men had 6. If you compare the women to the men's 1st session times, the top women would be within 2 seconds of the FE Regulars, and around the pace of another rookie in Zane Maloney. Still a bit slower, but it's most of their first times driving FE, so that's to be expected.

I would say it's because they weren't pushing as hard. Mostly sticking to race runs in their test plans. Any push laps they did do probably came with a lot of margin to make sure they didn't bin it. Also, I think Chadwick said she was blocked on her best lap. I think its likely she could've set a faster lap than Abbi and one a lot closer to the boys.
