good vid. taking off in rough weather is scary. i flew southwest out of seattle one time during a snow storm. we had clearance for take off, but idk why. the snow and fog were so thick you couldnt see the wing tip.

one thing about rain in chicago when taking off it starts to be bumpy but with southwest it is unexpected with their take off it catches you off guard but when they make that turn to take off the full force and the speed are like wtf but It is a great video but scary you guys have guts

I'll be on that flight on the 16th of March to go to Raleigh-Durham but its a non-stop flight though. Southwest Airlines is the best airline I think.

Rain is ok, Thunderstorms scare the F'in Sh**t out of me, and snow is ok too, but ice is just as bad as thunderstorms. Never taken off from Midway while it's raining though. Last year, I landed during a thunderstorm at Boston Logan on Virgin America, and it was so scary it was the first time in 30 years of flying that I actually prayed during the descent. LOL....even seasoned flyers get nervous too.

it was raining that day and mostly all the southwest airlines i went on, usually do a take off like this one in the video. I love flying but, all the time.... taking off makes me have this weird feeling in my stomach and i keep thinking...OH MY GOD...that could've been the last time i could be alive on the ground.

yeah. i usually go on USA 3000 from florida to chicago but at that point i lived in north carolina and neither airports (Raleigh and Charlotte had USA 3000)

There was nothing wrong with that takeoff roll. The aircraft was not off the ground too early. The captain and FO have to wait until the aircraft reaches a certain speed known as the rotation speed, then they can pull back on the yoke.

that's the sounds from landing gears retracting up and the flaps...really cool view thou,what camera you've been using... just wondering?...really like seat in that sections?...try to seat next to the engine,u could see the trust reverser deploy during landing must be even bettter view! nice video

@dcottp2007 yeah, the whole way to the runway was pretty bumpy. i'm usually not afraid of take offs but this one threw me off and i had goosebumps the entire time. lol

Sorry for many comments. I have a flight from midway on southwest to Los Angeles at 6 am! Imagine how early I have to get up and leave my house! Got to wake up at 1 am and leave at two am! However, Los Angeles is my layover, flyin to San Francisco.

Have u ever flown from midway before? I am pretty sure if u live in Chicago and u want to fly from midway, u r likely to run into some rain! Not all da time! I live near Milwaukee! We never fly from Milwaukee since it is so small! Every time we fly, it is from o'hare or midway!

The takeoff party on the runway is WAY TOO SHORT and the plane is off the ground WAY TOO EARLY. Hope you will film a longer takeoff party on Southwest Airlines next time. Takeoff party score is: 14 out of 20 T he plane is off the ground way TOO EARLY.
