Thank you for showing Austrian direct flights to Japan. Now its sure we made better call with EK - 400Eur cheaper per person juat the transfer making it longer. On a side note,looks you still have your gf from Slovakia. Missing the old trip reports with trains and lowcost carriers from the region. The channel moved forward a lot. (more food complaints too) You did a jump in level the past years. Great work

Amazing videography Lucas. The Samsung galaxy S21 is just an amazing piece of technology. Overall thoroughly enjoyable trip report. Europeans generally enjoy visiting Japan and South Korea since these countries experience a temperate climate with four seasons. It's a shame that Austrian Airlines aren't upgrading to the 777X

Great video! I flew Austrian's 777 from VIE-EWR in premium economy as well and it was super disappointing. 4 hour maintenance delay, terrible food, no wifi, limited IFE selection and just the whole experience felt like there was a ton of cost cutting and all of my long hauls on Lufthansa metal were better than this. Not to mention they gave everyone a 10 euro food voucher, but the only places where it was valid was in the Schengen gates in a different terminal or in the arrivals hall.

Well, the maintenance is something that can happen in any flight... but yeah, the rest, which is the service in general...

4 hours of delay on a flight from the EU should bring you a compensation of 600EUR. This is (sadly) the way how I paid for my recent LH flights as they were all plagued by delays or cancellations. Took me a few months though to shake the money out of them as they seem to hope that the customer gives up at some point...

Premium economy of Austrian seems nice. The food looks so un-appetizing. So happy to see some footage of Tokyo. Been about 20 years since I last went to this great city. 27:18, amazing how uniformly aligned the luggage was on the belt. So easy to pull out. Never seen that before. Well! They are Japanese. Great report. Is really sad, what the 2000´s brought to flying. Ryanair (i hate them) is the leader, people fly like cows in trains, companies like Austrian are totaly confused, try to cut the cost in every corner and what used to be nice in 1990´s is now completely gone. But the mass wants this, overcrowded small planes with 198 seats, no comfort, no service, "low" prices, strange...

Personally speaking, I guess reviews for PE from different airlines is the most practical ones. This type of review really helps a lot of people making the disicion whether to choose economy or PE. I'm sure it's up to each person to decide either PE is worthy or not, but the reviews of PE give people a clear idea of what they are getting from the extra money paid. As always, very well done video. Thanks for sharing. The meal looks really not special, at least in the video. Not better than other economy dinner. it looks like a huge piece of canned tuna.....

The only reason why it could be worth on a flight like this one was the extra space and the fact that we were travelling as couple, so having the seat config 2-4-2 was very appreaciated. Besides that, there's no reason to fly PE with Austrian in my opinion.

What I think about this meal in Premium Eco? - Whenever I eat such a selection of international products, I wonder where they are really from and how ecological they are. Which cheese is this exactly, from which producer, are the grapes from Austria or from the opposite corner of the world, do they serve me premium eco ("bio") meat or just the cheapest of the cheapest from wholesalers ?? I would like to encourage airlines to use local food on board and use this in marketing.

Sí, en teoría debería ser mejor... aunque en este vuelo, desde mi punto de vista, fue netamente peor.

actually i mostly never have problems with jet lag that much. yes, wenn i flew to L.A. i went to sleep at 9pm instead of 11 but that's it. maybe it's because I work in a job with variing shifts :D lucky me
