I was surprised when I read about other Marines having all four wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. Back when I was in the Marine Corps (the olden days) wisdom teeth were pulled one side at a time with two or three months between surgeries. Also, complete liquid diet for four days then soft solids like ice cream, soups and mushie foods. Emma you are a trooper. Aren't grasshoppers that big called locusts??? Teal, please be careful - yes more braver than I - I would have waited to go to another area for safety. Great show - Linh, Teal, Emma and Compass. Smooth sailing and FAIR winds. You should secure your outboard better by bolting it to the transom as they do tend to slide off when you hit chop. I had a 15 hp 2 stroke that almost came off twice. I decided to drill a two holes and bolt it to the transom and it never happened again.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed surgically when I was 17. I remember it like it was yesterday. Good to hear all went well!

Emma, I'm glad you were able to get all of that toothy work done in what seemed to be such a good facility and without too many problems. By the way, you do make quite the adorable chipmunk. When I had my wisdom teeth out 50 some years ago, they couldn't numb the area enough and ended up using laughing gas on me. That made it a lot more fun, at least for me. I laughed all of the way through the procedure which couldn't have made it easier for the doctor. 🙂

You can live off smoothies with protein powder. Just have to use fruit without tiny seeds, so no strawberries ect.

😢Same sort of thing for me too, only mine didn't erupt until I was away to college and nowhere near my orthodontist. Needless to say my teeth are now crooked, but not as bad as before. Had all four wisdoms removed, but the damage had already been done. Parents spent well over $3K on my teeth in 1967 dollars, and to make matters worse, my dad died from a heart attack that summer. So, no more money for a while. Glad to see you addressing it early. Good luck to you.

Emma, Wow, wow, wow, Hope you're feeling better. I ran into a door while walking to the bathroom one dark night and knocked out my front tooth, 2 months later, $3600, & 6 appointments they finally put a new permanent implant. Lol, I learned my lesson, I put a nightlight in the hallway leading to the bathroom. ❤

Emma handled it perfectly! I had some major surgeries for dental (Cancer related). Which is now way behind me and I’m on the better side of it now. Anyway, god job, and look forward to your next video.

Emma really toughed that out. I didnt have lower wisdom teeth thankfully but getting the uppers at almost 30 was not easy. She has grown into a beautiful young woman like her mother. It will be off to college soon. They do grow up so fast.

I recently had the same Surgical procedure done Actually, we did have one sailing adventure in Oahu, Hawaii off of Diamondhead. I was trying to set the anchor. All the sudden the wind came up around 30 Miles per hour it didn’t work out, so I was trying to hoist the anchor. I had my daughter on the helm, told her to point the boat towards Diamondhead. She was doing fairly well however, she handed off to my son. It was his first time sailing. we hoisted up the anchor and motor back to the harbor and that was the end of our sailing adventures and that was about five years ago so that’s why I really enjoy your show. You give me a Family Experience in each and every episode thank you so much

Happy to see you moving out of Shelter Bay. I have been there a total of 4 times, waiting on going through the canal. Its a nice place to stage for the canal and the crossing to French Polynesia. The duty free in Colon is great. I am presently in Grenada after coming up the coast of South America. Maybe we will cross paths. I know your videos are not present time and not sure of the delay time, and I do not follow other social media sites so hard to know present times. But you all are sort of secretive so to speak about plans, had I known that Emma was getting wisdoms removed I could have offered some insight. I am a oral surgeon of 25 years,, and have taken so many out. If you have teeth removed again, or even a tooth ache of any kind. One of the best things to do is make tea, ice tea, hot tea, just tea. Take the soggy wet teabag, do not squeeze it out and just put it in your mouth over where the teeth came out, and bite on it lightly. There are several things in the tea that helps, one major one is the tannic acid. This and the other things in the tea reduce inflammation over 50 percent, also it causes the blood to clot faster and stay clotted. If keeps any infection away on the surface. You will not need much pain relief medicine either. I saw you using ice pack. that is great for relief. Never heat. Another thing to eat is blended foods, in a blender. Suck it through a straw. Also a favorite, milkshake and add a couple eggs to it in the blender for protein. Keep your head up higher than your heart during the first 24 to 48 hours also. Eliminates some headache and pain. I usually put patients to sleep, but understand some do not like this and some places do not offer this. I am glad you made it through ok and now resumed your adventures. We went to the San Blas Islands for 5 weeks. We pulled the mast when we returned to Shelter Bay. You will see the details of why we did that in a few weeks.

I have my wisdom teeth still except one they stole in Bangkok when i was getting a implant a few months back. The cost of my flights, hotel (5 star) and dental work was still cheaper than dental in the US. We get those giant black and red grass hoppers in Texas at a certain time of the year

One of the other boating channels found a great little sanding device, waterproof (I don't know how deep but enough to clean their hull.) Battery operated, that they said made the work go faster. Sorry, I don't remember which channel. i watch a lot of them. Yours is one of my 3 favorites. It used to be 4 but Greatcircle finished their 3 year circumnavigation recently

Emma, you are so brave. I went through the same dental process you have been going through, and I used to hate going to the dentist. My dad did not tell me before he took me that I was getting teeth pulled, so I didn't realize until I was in the chair that I was getting teeth removed. My fear happened in the chair and I didn't have enough time to process it. However once I was through all the dentist chairs, teeth removals, and braces it was great. The final day they removed my braces I was so so excited. SO I feel your joy as you near the end of your journey with dental work. Linh, you were very supportive too, that always makes a big deal with recovery, knowing that as you are in pain mom is right there watching over you and preparing meals or anything else you may need. Teal, I would not gotten in that water for all the tea in China! NO THANK YOU! You are brave.

Emma, you did great! They had to completely knock me out, and crack my jaw to even get in there to do my wisdom teeth. Hopefully, you never have to have any more pulled but a black tea -tea bag is great to chomp on if it is painful like your first one. I like how they did one side and then the other at a time. Back in my day, they did the tops or bottom in one turn and then the next time it was the opposite. I absolutely love how you go into the dentist and orthodontist with no fear, excited to get whatever needs to be done done.

Our first dinghy was a Walker Bay Genesis 310 DX which weighed 126 lbs. Our new dinghy is a AB Lammina 10AL which weighs in at 144 lbs. Our Tohatsu 9.9 EFI planes both dinghies with all 3 of us aboard with no problems (keep in mind that we have a very light family with a combined weight of less then 350 lbs). By adding another 50-75 lbs of gear or supplies and we will slow dramatically and plow the water rather then plane. Both dinghies are the same length, but the AB sits much higher in the water and feels so much bigger, robust, and durable with the aluminum hull.

When I was 7 years in old I had surgery on my urinary to tract. So afterwards I was plaved on a nland diet. Kitchen gave me a bowl of cherry jello, a ginger ale and a water, three times a day for seven days. Finally gave me solid food after I refused to eat anything at all.

Gawd..I know how that feels. When I went into the Navy, because I was going on submarines, they pulled all 4 of mine at the same time. I survived on soup, mashed potatoes, milk shakes (no straw) and beer.......I think that experience is why I dislike dentists to this day. Emma is going to be a formidable young lady.

Well, this was a hell of a video. Between Emma's dental work and Teal in the water with a Crock, I had to decide which one I would rather do. Being in the water with the Crock won over the Wisdom teeth. Emma, you are a trooper. But, Teal, I don't know if I would have gone in the water with a Crock nearby, either. Hmmm, which teeth? Emma you are braver than me, I start sweating as soon as i walk into a dental surgery. I have had joint replacements and that's a breeze but as soon as I go to a dentist even for a clean I start freaking out. I'm 57 and thank God I've never had problems with my wisdom teeth. I had migraines for years and years and i got my wisdom teeth out, they found one was really close to one of the nerves in my jaw, so close infact they had to reinforce my jaw afterwards or it could have potentially broke, yeah after that i've literally had two headaches - not even migraines, when i used to get one every month atleast. sooo yeah although they ground mine out they didn't pull them, i was digging chunks of tooth out of my gums for weeks

Nothing bad happened. We spent 5 weeks in the San Blas Islands and went back to Shelter Bay to pull our mast for some electrical and rigging maintenance.
