You're spot on, and coincidentally, that's exactly the treatment for Dengue! (At least for Dengue phase 1... Phase 2, if it goes that far due to lack of initial care or subsequent infection of the same variety (of which there are three), then hemorrhagic fever becomes a very serious concern and requires serious medical intervention is necessary. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, but have had Dengue here in the Philippines..... Anyhow, glad to see that Teal and the whole crew is happy and healthy, and great episode. Looking forward to the next chapter in your adventure! Cheers!

This was the first time that our solar struggled to keep up. More solar is not the answer because we were putting out zero amps at points (1500 x 0 = 0, 2500 x 0 =0). A wind gen would have definitely supplemented nicely. Because with the thick cloud cover, rain and wind accompanied it. Our small little generator was working overtime.

Hey Linh, That pizza looked great! There's another soup you can make (and you should like this one) called Arroz Caldo. This has a ton of Onion, Ginger and Garlic and helps quite a bit with the cold or a flu. Not sure how good it will be for Dengue. The garlic, onion and ginger are anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral, so not a bad thing to eat when under the weather. Ingredients: 2 chopped onions 4 inch long piece ginger finely chopped 2 ½ lbs chicken breast cubed 1 head of garlic finely chopped ½ oz vegetable oil 14 oz sweet rice - dried and uncooked (I use Sho-Chiku-Bai sweet rice from Koda Farms) 2 quarts Kitchen Basics chicken stock 4 scallions sliced 2 pinches of safflower Salt and pepper to taste Preparation: Use enough oil in a large pot to brown the garlic on medium low heat until golden. Remove from heat then remove half of the garlic and some oil and place in a small sauce pan. Continue browning the garlic in small sauce pan till it’s brown and a little crispy, set aside. Slice the scallions and set aside. Place the onions and ginger in the pot with the remaining garlic and sauté at medium low or just a little higher heat. When onions are soft, add the chicken and brown at medium heat. When the chicken starts to whiten add the sweet rice and continue browning the chicken mixture. When all the chicken is white, add the chicken stock and bring to boil. Cook on high heat for approximately one hour stirring often until the sweet rice begins to bloat. The soup will look like porridge and the sweet rice will be soft. Stir in the safflower and remove from heat. Serve the Arroz caldo and top with golden brown garlic and scallions to taste. NOTE: if you prefer, you can use much less sweet rice and the soup will be more like Western soups and won't be think like a porridge.

A short history about the black Christ in the Church of San Felipe. At minute 3:40 The Black Christ statue is believed to date back to the 17th century. However, the exact origins of the statue are shrouded in mystery, and several legends attempt to explain how it came to be in Portobelo. One of the most widely accepted stories is that the statue was found washed ashore in Portobelo’s harbor. According to the legend, a group of fishermen discovered the statue floating in the sea in the early 1600s. They brought it to shore and placed it in the local church. Another version of the story suggests that a ship carrying the statue was headed elsewhere, but due to a violent storm or some other divine intervention, it was forced to dock in Portobelo. Despite repeated attempts to continue their journey, the ship was unable to leave, and the statue was eventually left in the town. The Parish Church of San Felipe in Portobelo became the permanent home of the Black Christ, where it has been venerated for centuries. The figure is striking due to its dark skin color, which sets it apart from most traditional representations of Christ in the region. Many Panamanians and scholars believe that the Black Christ resonates with the Afro-descendant community in Portobelo, a town with a significant Afro-Caribbean population. For them, the statue represents both their cultural identity and their faith. The Black Christ is also seen as a symbol of suffering, redemption, and miracles. Many people visit the statue seeking healing or blessings, attributing miraculous powers to it. The most important celebration involving the Black Christ is held every year on October 21st, known as the Festival of the Black Christ or Cristo Negro de Portobelo. Thousands of pilgrims, many of them walking barefoot, crawl or carry heavy crosses as a sign of penance. The faithful often dress in purple robes to honor Christ’s suffering during the crucifixion. The centerpiece of the celebration is a procession through the streets of Portobelo, where the statue of the Black Christ is paraded by devoted followers. The pilgrimage often begins days before the event, with some participants traveling great distances in difficult conditions to show their devotion. This festival has become a vital part of the religious and cultural identity of Portobelo, blending Catholic traditions with the Afro-Panamanian heritage of the region.

That will have you sleeping round the clock ... liver and spleen tends to swell and you're going to be weak and tired for Six weeks ... avoid alcohol for a few months... Or you will feel beat again.... you may get relapses if you do, get it checked. It can get more serious in a few people. I know it's been hammering people out in Thailand as the Tiger Mosquitos that carry it are endemic to the region. Break bone fever gives you an idea of how bad it can get. 🥵🥶🥵😖

Good Mornig fro Lodi, California. I love the history. It amazing me what man has done and what he is capable of. Thank you. I was thinking that men where sailing to the new world in the 1400's and then, 300 years later, in the 1700's they were building forts. Now, another 300 year it's the 2000's. I began thinking that is a total of 600 years and what will another 300 years take us. I thought of Adam, in the Bible, he lived 930 year. It puts things into a little better perspective of what could have happened before the flood, which was 1656 years, from Adam leaving the Garden. In my mind I was breaking it down into 300 year intervals. I wonder what man really did accomplish before the flood.

As Dengue is somewhat different because of its four subtypes it’s quite dangerous on secondary infections. There is a titer antibody test available to check if someone has been infected recently. Mortality rate at first infections is about 1% but that goes up to 20% if the secondary is a different subtype. That’s because of the fact that the body reacts to the type from that first infection and needs more time to adapt and fight the different subtype. Good thing there is now two types of vaccines available, the first one hasn’t widely available and limited to certain people but the second one called Qdenga® is in many countries available now without that restriction. Might be to consider if travel plans include the typical dengue transmission mosquito infested areas.
