I don't really have to do a whole lot of prep work. Made a Walmart order went from 400-600 a month to 200.00. I only have me, my grandson and 5 little kids to feed now. Do you guys ever make sloppy joes? Thats one of our favorites. You can make a tortilla strip soup and use those taco shells crushed up in it along with cheese. Something we made growing up was what my grandma callled a tostada stack casserole. You could use taco shells broken up on the bottom instead of tortilla chips, then spread out warmed up/thinned out with a bit of water beans, tip with some browned ground beef, cheese and olives, and bake @ 350 for 30 minutes or until everything is heated through and the cheese is melted. Then pull it out and spread a layer of cream cheese, sprinkle with diced tomatoes and green onion and cilantro if you like it. Then we also liked to put slices of avocado and you just serve up a square, and its sooo good!

Then you can pair them with tomato sauce and spaghetti, mushroom sauce with rice and a side of broccoli or onion sauce with mashed potatoes and green beans. Or any sauce you like really. Countinue your good work. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one with a crazy lifestyle; )

Such a great idea to pre-cook and chop up the bacon! Recipe ready! You taught me a new "trick": watched you do your yeast bread mixing and kneading altogether in a large bowl. Did it that way when I made dinner rolls recently and it worked great! No more flour all over the counter any more...just use my largest bowl for the whole process. Thanks, Amy. (:

If you have the storage space, you could alternate what you buy. One month stock up on 2 months worth of freezer stuff and then the next month do pantry. You could take your coolers with you in case you find great deals on meat or cheese.

I always try to stick to eating one meat a day when I do have it because it takes your body a lot longer to digest different animal proteins.

Did you know that you can put your pans in some ammonia just use a tub and sit the bottom of the pan in it and it will get them shiny clean😊

Amy, Thanks for the idea of cooking and freezing my ground beef. I normally have to wait on it to cook. The only time a don’t scramble it is to have hamburgers. This will definitely make it easier on me. I’m really getting great ideas from you. My children are grown it’s just my husband and I but I work full time and find myself rushing to get dinner done. Thanks again for sharing! BTW- Walmart has the meat masher. I got mine there last year. I just seen them the other day so they still have them. Not expensive at all.

Leftover pork roast always makes a great beef stir fry. My dad always made the best along with his chicken and rice.

Thank you for all your ideas, would love your energy. Where do you get the disposable containers you put your soup in?
