FYI, *DO NOT* get grease in the CV bolt through-holes while packing. Loc-tite on the threads is required. I have seen these vibrate loose if loc-tite is neglected. Use on U-joint straps also.

These CV joints are entirely reliant on a durable, long-lasting quality boot. The life of the boot is the life of the joint. I would think by now they would have designed a better boot. Most boots go bad within a year. After that the joint begins to degrade.

I had to change 2 PROPSHAFT cvjoint in 3months period The mechanic did not marked the initial position of either side, when took it off. The last one lasted 30miles only What is the reason of failure? Must be aligned? Thank you for your time

Good afternoon In a 3months period I had to change 2Propshaft Cvjoints(the last one lasted 30miles)(vibration at 60mph) The driveshaft has not been marked when first changed, by mechanic. What is the reason for failure? Must be aligned? Thank you for the video and for further information

Yes, should be the same on all 2001-2005 Sport Tracs.
