what a performer! The over-eccentric musicians always get the most shit from people when they start out, but they get the last laugh when people can't get enough of their invigorating stage presence. Cedric you inspire me.

Cool factoid: the guitarist and also backing vocalist, Jim Ward, now in Sparta, said that this song was conceived by accident, by the band trying to rehearse "Unsung" by the band Helmet. They then started writing a song and original music content, based on a poem that Cedric had written about after watching the 80s movie Alien. I can definitely hear Unsung in this song, at some portions. Especially the drumming and bass stop-and-go.

I remember the first time I saw this video on MTV2, back when MTV2 had just arrived and only played videos. It seems crazy to think about that this was 2000, I was only 14, yet the memories of this video still seem so vivid because it was so different from everything else they played. I can't believe how much time has gone by, and it makes me wonder how many others were influenced by this video thanks to MTV2. MTV gets a lot of hate but at least they got some things right over the years.

I remember being 11 or 12 years old, playing this song on bass on guitar hero 3. Begged my mom for a real bass ever since I heard this song, finally got one after a year or two, immediately taught my self how to play this song. Probably one of the few songs i can play 100% correctly all the way through even after years of never hearing/playing the song

Saw them on stage in 2000, thinking they were going to be one of those metalcore bands that were in vogue back then. I was completely BLOWN AWAY. Rushed to the merch stand to buy their CD! Edit: the wild afro's should have told me they were no "ordinary" band :)

I think this was the first rock video I remember seeing at 11 years old. Never had mtv before but I believe I saw this video on Fuse a rock music video channel! I use to think they were saying “ get away, get away “ always typed that inspired of cut. Could never find it almost 20 years later i finally found it!! 🤘🏼

7th grade, central Texas. I was big into skateboarding (the ZERO team in particular), had my hair spiked, ankle-length baggy shorts, oversized “Don’t Talk To Me” t-shirt, and was just figuring out Blink-182 and Green Day songs on my Squire Strat when an issue of Guitar Magazine showed up in my mailbox that had Aerosmith on the cover BUT ALSO had a feature about these fuckin fro-haired weirdos (my hair fros naturally but I was embarrassed about it at the time) from El Paso who were wearing skinny jeans with high top Converse and tight tee shirts and playing some weird style of music, so I immediately waited for 3hours for this song to download from Napster off of my 56k dial-up connection (lived out in the country), and then immediately begged my parents to buy the album after that. That album changed everything I thought I knew about what punk was, showed me an intensity and urgency that was lacking in the metal stuff I’d loved up until that point. I’ll forever be a fan.

Is that the one where there's a couple clips kind of showing the back of a boat motoring through the water? Cuz I seem to remember this video just something about a boat going through the water I don't know I could be mistaken

Hanky Cuntpunt Yes, that's the one! It's got a bunch of random artsy shots of things mixed with shots of the band. The boat clip (filmed from inside, facing backwards) stands out to me, too.
