"ONE BULLET" Test | FPS Weapon Body Penetration Test | Star Citizen Science Is Absolutely Fun! [4k]

In this video my org mates and I did a "One Bullet" test. This test is to see if those fps weapon can penetrate through bodies if we all line up, if so how many can it penetrate. We will be testing both ballistic and energy fps weapons. Enjoy!

That was some fun with science! Are backpacks and guns still bullet-proof? Do you and your Org-mates want to try again wearing just armour, no packs, no guns? I'm curious about the results. Thanks Foxy 😁👍(P.S: Maybe have the shooter stand on the hull, it looked slightly higher than the platform, better for head-shots perhaps?)

I would love to see a test on whether the armor size increases your hitbox. I always wonder whether your actual body or the whole body silhouette causes the player to take damage when taking shots. I had a good laugh at the last 'test'. The camera angle was just perfect

To have real value, testing should be with ALL players being shot, in the exact same armor, or just a flight suit. Too much variation. It does, however, seem like a whole lot of fun. You guys are cracking me up... Thanks!

Yeah you should do a test without armor / helmets, and one with light, Med, Heavy. I'm guessing that would provided some more consistent results. Entertaining either way.

Good science. You may have had a shot angle that carried the bullet through the target and over the top of the second, or third in line. Earlier in the video (2:30-2:55) multiple people were hit. Later (8:30--8:45), the distance between the rifle and the line's front is much shorter. Since all the avatars set and lean into the rifle when firing, the angle of the rifle is steeper at the time of firing. This was not so much a criticism, as it is a way to try to get you to do more... umm, Science.

So I noticed a few times you got a hit indicator, even though you didn't take damage. I've also noticed when I run bunkers sometimes NPCs will shoot and hit me but I won't take damage, I think armor has a chance of negating damage, but I'm not sure what the mechanics are behind it. So... maybe you need to do this test with everyone's helmet off. ;o

The hit indicator is a proximity thing (to my understanding). It seems to get also triggered when something almost hits you. It's been like this for a long time so I guess it is by design. I like it and it is helpful to deaf people.

Even you see the arrow from gun fire on your screen you DID get hit. It's just absorbed by your armor.

I think this is correct. Backpacks stop penetration.

Helmets could have some deflection too IMO. I've hit heavy armor NPC's in the side of their helmet for one shot kill, but it probably takes 2 to the helmet straight on.

If you shot the pauldron of the guy at 2:06, in a way that no body part was behind it the part you shot, would it count as being hit and you receive damage, or would it just show a red marker of being hit, but do zero damage? If it causes damage, it may be good to only wear heavy armour which is as low profile as possible to be less of a target. There's been many times I've been shot at, even by SMGs and receive 5 or more hits at the same time and take 0 damage, as if I am hit, but didn't actually hit my body under the armour edit: also wonder if the angle of the armour from the incoming projectile matters in this- as bullets can already ricochet visually (at least, they used to, I haven't checked recently), so if they can, then I wonder if maybe armour with a V-shaped front would work better, and rounded or large flat angled plates for pauldrons

I believe backpacks are invincible, so everyone wearing one threw off your torso shot tests

Agreed. Everyone should be wearing the same armor without guns and only medpens and paramed guns while standing on a line or against a railing/wall. This will control the experiment for science. Excellent and amusing video.
