One call center, many scams

This video shows 'Maniere Software & Technology Pvt' in Salt Lake Sector 1, Kolkata, India. This call center run multiple scams and make thousands of robocalls to all parts of the planet.
UPDATE: The Facebook page of Sandip Saha disappeared 11 minutes after the video upload. The LinkedIn page disappeared in 17 minutes.
I've exposed most of their scams in this video. Let's hope that the authorities can crack down on this lot like they've done recently.

Not true. In the UK, if you move house and move out of a particular borough, they'd actually tell you of what you're owed back from paid council tax. When I moved out of my flat in Hammersmith and moved to east London, they called me as I'd already moved out of the property and wanted to send me the receipt of refund to the new address.

@James Archer You're not stupid, as this isnt a matter of stupidity, but simple geography. Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah, USA, but Salt Lake is also a place (and a city) in India. The trick here is using a real name for a place in India, as a completely difference place in the US with the same name. Its not smart however, as they'd still be lying, but at the same time give a hint as to where they are located, with their thick indian accents. Even the smartest people can get tricked if they don't know what to look out for. I got a very believable robo-call asking to raise funds for Vietnam veterans. Since 2 of my uncle's served in Vietnam, I was supportive of the cause. Luckily, I realized it was a robo call when I made comments that only a human would respond to.

I bring this point because it seems like there's more factor in winning this campaign other than waiting till the cyber or Jim to do it. I feels like there's so many things that India can do but haven't really use the maximum effort on it. Because this isn't something that only make a problem for one side, it's also becoming a nuisance to so many other people from many foreign country. It's the fact that their society is so fcuked up to allow something like this to go on and that their authorities basically encourage it. India police are either complete morons or are in on it and get kickbacks. Both is damning and there is no excuse. Hi Jim, I am from Kolkata. Yesterday, the Kolkata police along with their counterparts in the UK and Microsoft shut down 2 scam call centers in the city. As a long time viewer of your videos and as someone who is ashamed of how these guys have affected the reputation of my country, I want to thank you especially for the attention and exposure that you have brought to this issue. You don't owe these fools anything. Any business worth its salt doesn't need to call people up for more business. People come to them. I've gotten to the point that when reps stop me in the street and try to get my details by asking "but don't you care about suffering children?" I just say "no, I don't". "Don't you want to save on your electric bill?" "nope, good day". I always wish them a good day afterwards, I'm not being an asshole, I just refuse to cooperate. I don't even care to lie to save face anymore. "How much do you pay for gas atm?" "no clue, but I'm still not signing with you". If I think their cause is legitimate, I'll promise to send money when I get home, on my own terms, and I do, if I'm able to without signing up to all kinds of shit. The guys in the street don't appreciate that though.

@joe Domjan I have on multiple occasions. Il hold them on the phone for 20 minutes just mucking them around and playing dumb. Also its amazing how "professional" they are when you start swearing at them and calling them names and then they start abusing you right back. Iv been called a "white dog" by Indian scammers a few times now. Problem is they never stop calling. They work in massive call centres and your phone number is on a list that 100s of workers have access too.

@@ndturtle5538 at this point, I'm sorry to say, it's up to India to fix their rep or accept that the rest of the world thinks ALL of their citizens are scammers. I'm a great believer of keeping an open mind, but it doesn't seem a big priority for their government to get these people earning their money legally. It goes way beyond "many of our people are poor, it's an insolvable social problem", most of the dudes Jim has followed up happily post their gaudy clothes, big cars and tons of gadgets. When they're asked what they think of being frauds and scammers, they'll call you the worst things they can think of, so it's not like the scammers have any sort of morals anyway.

Jim Browning as shown that Indian authorities aren't incentivized to crack down on these scams. Great job in exposing the scammers. I am an Indian and have worked at the call center in Las Vegas, NV with several well known companies supporting software and hardware. I don’t try to fake any accent but can speak fluent English. I had quite a few clients asking me where I was located and it did piss me off but I would tell them. I used to work at a legitimate call center and I received a call from a.customer wanting to buy something. Even tho everything was legitimate, this guys last name was almost impossible to pronounce it had like 20 characters and hyphens etc... So instead of embarrassing myself and offending him with mispronouncing his last name I simply called him by his first name, Tommy or something... But since I was used to saying Mr or miss after using last names I accidentally said Mr. Tommy and this guy went crazy me... Accusing me of being from India and a scammer 🤣 at the end after all that tough talk his credit check failed to get a cellphone 😁
