I actually ran into him in the early 80s in Manhattan, he was on line at a movie theater and I was working a Summer job for a marketing company handing out questionnaires. Funny, I actually said "you're that guy from 'One Day at a Time', telling him rather than asking him. He smiled and said that's correct. Came across as a nice, soft spoken guy.
