Fun Fact: I am 3rd generation Texan (Dallas) and we actually call corn dogs "corny dogs" I didn't know that the rest of the US calls them corn dogs until someone asked why I say corny dogs. Fletchers corny dogs at The State Fair of Texas invented them.

@@trevorjameson3213 I grew up around the Spring Valley/Coit area. The Egg Roll Express is STILL there! 😱 A lot has changed in that area but it's nice to occasionally drive there. I'm now in a very new area of North Dallas. All the amenities and lots to do.

@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip that’s really super I look so forward to it. Not being able to travel in the last year and a half has sucked. So watching your videos is like being on a wee vacation. We’re not even allowed to drive into the USA from Canada right now. We can fly in but then there’s hundreds of dollars for covid testing when we come home. If you test positive you have to spend thousands of dollars in covid hotels back here at home.

I drove a truck in 2008 through Dallas. That was when Dallas and Ft. Worth were still 30 minutes apart, divided by country land. I came back on the road in 2016. I took a load to Paris Tx. Had to go through DFW. I was like WTH HAPPENED!!!!! it was being in NYCs southern cousin.

There are a WHOLE lot more places to go and things to see and do, besides just those three things, so keep that in mind when you come here! This is a huge, giant metro area that goes for miles and miles so it could take several trips to see all the cool stuff here.

I enjoy your videos because they provide insights into stuff I never imagined. I lived in Dallas four months in 1971 because of a job transfer. Dallas was a disappointment compared to two large cities I had previously resided, Houston and St. Louis. That disappointment was a good thing, because I ended up in NYC and stayed 40 years (no longer there). Dallas apparently has changed a lot since I was there, as I don't recall any of the things highlighted in your tour. Makes me think I should return for a visit, even a short one. Maybe I will, as I'm planning a vacation to Houston. Keep traveling and enjoy!

I grew up in Dallas, and I attended Dallas schools throughout the 60s and partial 70's. While looking at all those boxes of school books, I can't help but wonder, had I read or used any of the books during my 12 years of education? I' 'guessing, and the odds are very much in my favor, I most likely did. Dallas, despite all news reports, is a very fascinating, versatile, and urbane city. And, at 10:35, we see a sawfish at the Dallas World Aquarium. You are welcome!

I made a point of watching for the "sawfish" you mention. I wouldn't have know it was a sawfish - thought it was a stingray. Actually, I think the sawfish is shown at 11:00. Wow, what a strange-looking animal looking from below!

I was there that day. I was 4 and I was born at Baylor hospital in 1959. We lived in the suburbs but had to go Dallas to get my shots, so I was at Baylor that day and I asked my mom why were there so many people on the streets. By the time we got home to Garland he’d been shot .

i would love to visit Dallas some day. ive only been thru changing planes. i like the straight thru flights. i was in first grade when Kennedy was shot. our teacher had brought in a tv for us to watch. when he was shot she turned it off and we were sent home. and i hate the masks too. most places have stopped requiring them now. what amazes me is i will see someone driving in their car all by themselves with a mask on. ok im gonna behave now. thanks for sharing

35 state capitol buildings, the Old City Hall in Dallas, the Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center, the Pentagon, the Empire State Building, and many others are built with stone from two counties in Indiana. One of those counties is also the birthplace to THREE astronauts, and has a preserved pioneer village from 1818 complete with a functioning grist mill. You should have visited the 3 teddy Bears in Highland Park and the haunted railroad trestle in oak cliff, lol Both are well documented but people in Dallas don't know about them, lol. Took me 20+ yrs to find out about the teddy bears and lived within 2 miles of them. Enjoy you're travels.

Kennedy shooting ; I was in 1st grade the teachers had us all go into the hall and sit down. we were then sent home. My friend came over to my house and we watched on TV, We were out of school for three days. I never talked it over with my parents and they never talked to me. It wasn't till late I seen a video about Monroe .. Nuts it was.

I came to Dallas for the first time when I was 8 years old. We were coming from NE Louisiana to Six Flags, which ofcourse is in Arlington. We did tour downtown Dallas. One year later, in 1963, I'm sitting in my living room at home, watching the horrible event of the day, the assassination of President Kennedy. As a 9 year old, it was surreal, realizing that I had been in that very place. Fast forward to 1975, I'm grown, married, and one baby in tow, and moving to Glen Rose south of Dallas. My husband helped to build the nuclear power plant there. I worked in the Mary Kay business for awhile. Just curious...is the big gold Mary Kay tower still downtown? The skyline has certainly changed. I was in Dallas for the last time in 2004.
