I remember coming out of the shower my first night at Orlando Naval Training Station to find the only black guy duct-taped to a pillar. I went to my bunk and pulled out my C.I.A. Letter Opener and my Swiss Army Knife, tucked them in my briefs, and plowed through the dozen or so guys taping him up slinging them into the rafters and laying them out on bunks. Getting to Eddings (the black guy) I pulled my blades and started cutting him free. I'd freed him and was facing off against the guys who had recovered, when Master Chief stormed in with, "What's going on here?" He sees black man covered in duct tape, me squared off with a knife in each hand (spear point up, saw blade down, corkscrew coming out between my fingers), everyone else looking really pissed and one guy still hanging from the rafter yelling for help. Turned out it was just hazing. I spent the rest of my training under personal escort by an S.P.

Had a guy in our workcenter who complained incessantly about anything and everything. This caused him to be duct taped into the passageway overhead. He spent most of the morning up there. To their credit, most of senior enlisted would look up and ask "Are you okay?" When he nodded his head, they'd just mumble something about not wanting to deal with it and walk away.

that AT4 clip has an entire YT video and explanation. They were driving into what they believed was an ambush and the gunner briefed the humvee crew something along the lines of "When I poke my head in, hand me something to blow shit up." ... The trucks weren't ready to give the ambush, but the humvee crew stuck to the plan anyway. It's a good watch.

As an airman, my deployment was to the same place as the Army's two weeks of R&R. We had dorms. They had tents. We had a dining facility. They had some makeshift kitchen. They did have better food sometimes, but we just drove over and ate there on those days. Why can't the Army have nice things?

I also believe that it could just be that the army and Marines don't get nice things because it's a form of conditioning. Airmen aren't always on the battlefield or near the battlefield. You'd have to sleep in tents on deployment or on the ground if ur in the army, but air force doesn't have to do that... Idk what they do, but I know they don't stay in the fight for more than maybe an hour at most. Again I don't really know what I'm talking about, these are all just logical reasons as to answer your question on why the army doesn't have nice things

The vid from Ukraine was during the Kharkiv Offensive last fall. The KZbinr that posted it is an English speaker with a handle of Nucking Futz Yuri. A couple months back he was wounded when his vehicle was hit by one or two Russian Kornet anti tank missiles. He had some metal shards removed from his eye and given time to recuperate. There was a Drill Sergeant who became infamous in 198th BDE when he left his M4 leaning against a tree during EIB land nav. From what I understand, they'd cleared the site and discovered the missing weapon later; fortunately, it was still there. He got some light punishment but remained on the Trail, so it must have sucked being "that guy". Especially when you consider that he was one of the lucky few to get some time away from training 11X and 18X recruits. My first 1SG point-blank told us that we were there to drill, and not to expect any schools or other development. His replacement was much more lenient and tried to get us to one school of our choice. Some lucked out and got Airborne along with MRT, SHARP, or EOL, I got my 2-week vacation in MRT and then got a mid-cycle ALC date. EIB was never offered to Drills in my battalion, good thing I earned mine in 2004.

My first command was a Guided Missile Destroyer . One Friday , just before Liberty , I had just finished some PMS on a piece of DC equipment and had silicon grease on my hands . My Leading Petty Officer was always first out the door . So I decided to grease the door handle to prank him . At literally the last minute our LT ( Navy O3 ) dropped into CIC to see our LPO about a Monday morning issue . He grabbed the handle and his hand slipped off , leaving him with a greasy hand and a confused look on his face . Everyone was unsuccessfully trying not to laugh . I handed him a cleaning cloth and said that he wasn't the intended target of my prank . He was cool about it , ad my Division got to go on weekend Liberty instead of being smoked . I didn't have to pay for a single beer that weekend . Prank failed successfully .

I was in Iraq between Fallujah and Abu Ghraib prison in '03 when a soldier from an ADA unit attached to us lost his NVG's in the middle of the night. We turned on all of the hmmwv lights and flashlights we had to walk around and look for those things. After a few hours (and somehow no attack on us), leadership decided to say fuck it and stop the search. As we started to drive off, someone saw said NVG's. They were under the tire of one of the HMMWV's.

IED Petting Zoo was the site for the IED train the trainer course. I had to go through that course to be a certified instructor to teach soldiers how to ID an IED. It was a short lived program and the actual items used in the course were actual IED's without the explosive components and everything that was taught was in a controlled environment.

I won't mention any names. But we were doing an exercise with a couple of units and one of their guys harps on us to not use their NVGs(though they literally use our guns all the damn time). So when they were doing the night portion, one of their Sailors used our NVG and didn't mount it properly and lost them overboard. 30k equipment gone and it had to be ours. Gotta love the irony.😂

That last homework one reminded me of when another company's drill was walking with her trainees and the trainees saw me alone because the guy I was with ducked into the laundry room when we were heading to our bay. The Drill didn't even say anything, but the trainees got all big eyed and smiley, "get down you're dead." I don't even think the drill said anything and I just got down. I was so pissed because those little duck trainees.
