@@DavidCiani Never understood why so many CS builders adhere so strongly to the water lines under the roads as the game doesn't really take the real world issues of why its done in real life into account. I started off laying pipework under every street but quickly found it got too distracting when adding underground metros later and preferred a minimalist approach anyways. Now I just do long linear stretches spaced just enough for the edge of coverage to either touch or slightly overlap and cross them where there is a major street. It reduces the number of required nodes by lots and it looks a lot cleaner.

But lately, and especially with this episode, you've really demonstrated your improved ability to bend the game to your will and do things that I used to think were impossible in vanilla. Its absolutely phenominal watching you craft these builds, and somehow become even better at the game, when I thought you reached the ceiling of what was possible by game limitations. This video reminded me about when I went with my parents to some vacation spots when I was younger. These were not just clusters of hotels and bars. They were complete towns, with residential areas, city services, grocery stores etc. They still very much gave me the feeling that everything had been built at the same time, by the same contractors/developers. All the buildings had the same general proportions, the same colour schemes, the same style of decorations. I've come to understand that the reason they looked like that is very likely that this is exactly what happened. Somebody invested a lot of money in developing a fully formed tourist town, and building it very quickly. Kind of staggering, when you think about it.

I think, maybe in a nodded game, if you're to conservation, and sustainablility make sure you include ecology restoration (falls under sustainability). You could find out what native plants are in the area you're creating and designate land for a greenhouse (seed increase garden) and restoration. I work for EWU Palouse prairie restoration and part of my job is growing rows of native Palouse prairie plants for seed collection, as well as going out to the prairie and planting plugs. It'd be a cool story for your city and it'd look cool too. Take a look at some restoration projects and the native lands they work on so you can see what things should look like and go from there.

So in my own version, I envisaged to place a metro station at each side of the beach road, one North, one South, from two lines connecting at the station near the hotels (that will have to be changed. 1 mile is a good distance between those two stations, perfect. I might replace the trolleybus by a tram, because I had other plans for trolleybuses in the Downtown (busses 1 to 10 could be turned into trolleybusses unless tram alignements prohibit it or I might redo the entire bus network altogether) Given where you placed the trolleys, I might be able to add my tram extensions without any conflict (maybe add some transfer points along with the metro stations that I planned, especially the Northern one with the tram as well as with the trolleybus) In my Ep 120 rework I already had to demolish pipes to not reach the node (and lane, I could create roads but no more bus stops for some reason) limit. I guess that by Ep 125, I won't have to do it again because you would have done it yourself. Though in my rework of Ep120 I only tweaked the pipes and not electrical power lines since there not that many. It took me approx 40 min to delete all pipes. A good thing that Cities Skylines 2 will improve this a bit by placing automatically pipes and electricity under the road (at least for the last mile distribution network) Now, how will the new nodes on the roads lanes on the intersections work??? Will they have their own limits or be counted in the general limit? No idea. And I'm afraid that the removed the pipes to give place those... I have mods like painter or MoveIt so my rework is more esaily done than your build. In that perspective, your Terrace build is a perfect waste of beautiful beach sand imo but whatever... The Bob Ross Memorial Interchage district is USELESS, you should get rid of, it, it serves NO neighbourhoods and should be replaced with street naming on the highways or one of a roundabouts. I didn't foresee yout terrace district that seem awfully big, I kind of thought of a direct access to the sea for the tourist facilities... The "concrete water front" as my mother would have sais isn't good looking (must be agreeable for the inhabitants but overall it is an undesired urbanistic way nowadays... at least where I come from) Although my rework taps on public transportation and not urban planning. (I might make one later on for my own fun when you have finished, I guess around Ep125)

Since this is now approaching its end, are you thinking of starting a new vanilla build after Verde beach is done, or are you going to wait for CS:2?

Will wait for CS:2 and might have another Abandoned City series. We'll see! Verde Beach is breaking down, so we'll need to figure something else out!

@@CityPlannerPlays I look forward to it. I'll have to play CS:2 vicariously through you in the short term as money is an issue :P
