I wish the sound quality was better on this. Carole King and her backup band just nail it here and she knows it as can be seen at the end as indicated by her infectious smile and laugh. She had a good friend at the famous Brill (music) building, who actually dated her a short time before then: some guy named Neil Sedaka. :) His 1958 torch song, "Oh! Carol" was about her. He was 19, she was 16, but known as Carol Klein. The song hit #9 in 1959.

Absolutely a great comparison. She wrote everything from doo-wop to country to rock and roll to R&B to soul to girl group...and that's excluding her own work in the seventies. With over 400 compositions to her name that have been recorded by over 1,000 artists, Carole King is undeniably one of the most important singers and songwriters in popular music history. So yes, calling her the Mozart of the 20th century is more than fair.

Carole was great, but don't knock the Beatles, comparing apples with oranges. This is a simple I, IV, V Minor VI chord sequence, but she made it work so nicely. The Beatles used some really cool jazz chords on their later albums.
