I have always found local trains accelerate the maximum from Vasai to Nalasopara with my speedo aap roughly showing around 100-103kmph on screen whenever I travel this line and during this particular overtaking I guess Garib rath exp must have been doing somewhere around 70-80kmph and gradually speeding further towards its max permissible speed of 130kmph, however let's be certain that no express trains could beat the locals acceleration time of 0-100kmph and this vedio cleary displays that fact. Excellently captured!!

another reason is that mail express trains are pulled up from the front with only one powerful engine, while locals are pulled up from 3-4 intermediate engines. hence the acceleration is faster, but limitation on the max speed.

superb video and hats off to this emu because in a race between emu and express, EMUs get crushed by these SF trains but this train really tried hard and fought back but the result was as usual the same as it used to happen before.

Thanks a lot. Dont underestimate this emu. Its the best acceleration in India till now. Even I had a race with mumbai rajdhani at mahalaxmi, we overtook 12951 and finally 12951 overtook us at lower parel.

Actually, it isn't the diesel locomotives that are the problem. They are poorly maintained in india. In america, these things pollute less than automobiles! Indian railways needs to take better care of them.
