Be careful on how much you get! If you’re eating low fiber now, DO NOT jump straight into 20-30 grams. Progressively build up to that, 30 may even be too much. Going straight there from a low or normal fiber diet will give u bad stomach pains. Speaking from experience!

My favorite high fiber healthy food is this pasta called Chickapea. It’s a Chickpea & Lentil based pasta instead of wheat and it has high protein and fiber content. Also tastes really good!

You can get pure psyliuym husk. I use this in place of breadcrumbs and flour. I also combine it with low carb almond flour to make my own ke to flatbread. Look up keto flat bread. Also the best low carb pancakes: 1 egg, 25 g of psyllium husk, 25 g of almond flour, 2 g baking soda, 8 g low carb yogurt. Mix and cook. Top with allulose syrup and lots of butter. So good!!

Great advice from Cory. Ideally you want to get your fiber from food, not supplements. If you decide to use any of the Psyllium based stuff be sure to thoroughly dissolve it in plenty of water and don't take it during a fasting period. It can actually block your intestine if you don't prepare it correctly. Dissolve it completely, eat and drink with it.

I use 9g benefiber in my morning protein shake in ADDITION to eating a high fiber diet. I get about 30g a day, fiber one brownies are my favorite.

@@sonja4164 yeah....to much fiber for me would just stop everything 😅the recommended daily allowance is 25 to 30. Im not trying to be bloated all the time, so good for you and your BMs I suppose 😂you do know that having too much fiber isnt best for your digestion right? bloating · abdominal pain · flatulence · loose stools or diarrhea · constipation · temporary weight gain...I had a hernia mesh surgery, if I were to eat that much I would be in the ER. Balance is key, there is actually a news article of a man eating too much psyllium husk (which is fiber), and it did in fact land him in the hospital, it caused a huge blockage.

@Vannesa Marie of course, if a person has issues with some types of fiber, eating more than a certain amount can be a problem. Some people can't eat more than 15-20g. Perspectives... I've never had issues digesting fiber, even when I've had over 80g. I used to eat a lot less (like 20g), and I was constipated to the point of having bleeding hemorrhoids. It was bad. Digestion was horrible. I gradually & slowly increased fiber intake over time, and my digestion got better and better. I've been eating 60-70 grams of fiber from food (no fiber supplements) for over 12 yrs now... no problems. Psyllium is a powerful fiber supplement that says on the container to be very careful & take as directed with lots of water. I've taken it in the distant past & had no problems. If you don't take as directed, you're asking for a log jam. Balance for me won't be balanced for you. What works for me might not work for you, which is why I wasn't recommending that YOU eat as much fiber as me. That's foolish. I was more pointing out that perspectives on what's considered "a lot" are interesting to me. I know people who eat more than I do, and they think what I eat is low.

You mean 20-30 grams? Some people can, and some people get digestive issues. If you don't eat more than 20g presently, the trick is to slowly and gradually increase fiber. This gives your digestive system a chance to adjust to the increase, particularly your gut microbes.

Another L from this guy. Fiber will not assist you in losing weight if you are not in caloric deficit. Too much fiber can cause you to become constipated. Spirulina from greens and regular gut health maintenance will help more than anything. Track your calories and understand your maintenance calories if you plan on losing weight.

@@torrigreen1641 I’m a vegetarian and haven’t eaten meat since I was in a 24 hour suicide lockdown psych ward in a prison and the guards forced me to eat meat by accident. I think I have some type of inflammatory drug causing a blockage in my bowels or due to the combined problem of prolapse. I tried Metamucil a few years ago and my poop hurt my butt hole. It was so big I could barely pass it. Pile of mush? Yah mean potato? I think I got to stay away from food and drinks.

You are not drinking enough water if you are constipated and fiber can constipate you worse if you are dehydrated. I am on the carnivore diet and am never constipated. In fact this has been the most regular I have ever been.
