For me the 2000's was the last good decade for popular music. After around midpoint of that decade pop music started to go to shit and it still hasn't really recovered. I'd take any of the rock, rap and pop music from early 2000's or before over 99% of the pop music from the last decade or so. But that's just me. And yeah, 2000's music videos are reeeaaally dated now, only a decade later but I would bet my life that this last decade's music videos will be just as dated within a decade.

Shawty Lo's funeral was held on October 1, 2016 at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Atlanta. Following the service, the funeral procession proceeded to The Blue Flame Lounge, one of the rapper's favorite strip clubs, where a large group of patrons and mourners honored his casket with a moment of silence "filled with just the glow of the candles, and the lights from the strip club". I seem to recall that "Laffy Taffy" was intended to refer to labia minora that were long enough to protrude outside the labia majora, and this was something the song's author observed on strippers. "Ringtone Rap" is both his and your descriptions. It has a catchy-ass hook (White Tee, Walk It Out, or any other of the million "snap rap" one-hit wonders from the mid-2000's), a simple beat, and virtually no substance. There are a few gems from this era (Ay Bay Bay, Ridin, Tipsy, Lean Wit It Rock Wit It, Crank Dat to name some), but the most is forgettable shit like this that you throw on at a Throwback party or if you feel like reliving middle school.

And on a side note, if these guys wanted to refer to a candy that women would call them because of how hard they stay how long they can suck them, and the other thing I THINK they meant to refer to, why not, oh I don't know, JAWBREAKERS? @@ZakkandtheJ - nope, only S&C made it only the main chart of any country, going top 10 in U.S., Australia, and Canada, where only "Torn" kept it from hitting #1. I can confirm I heard S&C played to death in the U.S., but don't recognize anything else they did.

“Saint Joe on the School Bus” was a good song by MP that was played a fair amount, not a hit though.

Oh my goodness I'm starting to get war memories from the days of 2004 to 2007 ringtone rap. It felt as if all you had to do was put some random keyboard notes as your beat, and Shout some random Move That was supposed to be some hot dance. Jesus Christ folks in my middle school at the time ate that shit up like crazy man. It's so embarrassing to think about.

To be honest, I found this song so ridiculously stupid that I can't help but enjoy it ironically. Plus, I thought the beat was pretty catchy. Plus I grew up with hip hop/rap, for better and worse.

Fun fact: Lil Jon use to be a skater before he got into music. He wasn’t pro, but he was part of the crew that made up New Deal and Underworld Element (Just plain Element today). Andy Howell had a bunch of dj and music production equipment at the warehouse they were based out of. They would produce homebrew music to put in their skate videos. That’s where Lil Jon cake from. If you check out a book called Art, Life and Skateboaring: The Andy Howell Story, it talks about it.

Yep, I mean Hybrid Theory went 3x Diamond just last year, and was 11x Plat within the first year of release, 3 other songs off that album alone charted in top ten of rock and alt charts, besides their smash hit Papercut which was #2 in the country for about half a year. And yes I got all this info off Wikipedia.

@ffjreviews90293 жыл бұрын
I don’t really hate that one, it’s just kinda adorable how Mims claimed he was hot but then flamed out instantly.
The funny thing is, they actually did have a beef at some point. "Betcha Can't Do It Like Me" was a diss, IIRC, towards Dem Franchise Boyz, over who innovated snap rap of all things. It even opens with "fuck them thieves, we D4L". I don't know why I remember this. Even the disses were lame in that era.
