As much as Yellowcard has put a stain on their name with that lawsuit, it hurts me that they’re looked at as a one hit wonder because their discog is fucking incredible. Paper Walls, Southern Air, WYTTSY.. so many good records and better songs than a Ocean Avenue. Just my opinion though.

First discovered Yellowcard when I was downloading Rufio songs on Songspy (like Napster). Someone uploaded October Nights by Yellowcard as a Rufio song. A few weeks later went to a show and Yellowcard opened for the band (shame I can’t remember the headliner) but at the show they played October Nights. They put on a hell of a show - violin player was doing flips during the whole set. Obviously - they’re the thing I remember about that show 20 years later.

Not only do they play well they have great songs and that's by far the most important thing to me. I enjoyed your video!

The violin is awesome, man. I remember a few reviews of ocean Ave at the time saw it as gimmicky, and maybe there's a case for that, but doing something different for the genre in a way that still fit with it is great. The "giga chad" turn off to the nerdiness of the violin feels like it's from jock culture, and contrived to fill content, idk the response was just strange to me

You should check out Justin Hawkins' (The Darkness) channel. Super informed, super classy and funny. An essential channel for me. And it feels weird to call The Darkness a one-hit wonder. They returned from a break-up in 2012 and have been releasing albums that, for me, lay waste to anything they did on their first go-round. And they're still funny as hell, too -- people forget that hard rock used to have quite a bit of humor at one time. And they now have Rufus Taylor in their ranks -- son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor -- who has proven to be a fantastic drummer all his own. They just keep getting better.
