So good and so easy! I tried it today and they came out beautifully! in just a few minutes over an hour. Perfect timing as I am teaching the baking honor for our Seventh-day Adventist boys and girls scouting group (and I have, you guessed it, one hour!) and will be using this recipe tomorrow night to cover our yeasted bread portion while also teaching, thanks to your videos, the history and place of challah in Shabbot. We also observe the Sabbath hours from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and I have learned a great deal from you about how to approach Sabbath with celebration and to ready ourselves through our loving preparation of our meals and home as well as our spirit, to meet these hours that have been wisely set aside for our restoration. Thank you!

Such a lovely tutorial! But I also enjoyed the Bloopers at the end. Yes, that's how we were in the early days of Covid. "Was that sing Happy Day once or twice while washing hands..." I have bleach spots on one of my dresses (now relegated to housework dress) from someone adding bleach to their wash - just in case - in the apartment washer. We all did our best!

Looks absolutely delicious! And so fast and easy!!! Definitely going to try this. The “Everything Challah” seasoning looks very similar to “Everything Bagel” seasoning in the US, which I love on so much stuff!! Now I have another way to use it 😃

Hi Andrea❤️ I am so grateful for you to have tried the recipe! It is normal that the dough can be a bit sticky: add a bit of flour until the dough is TACKY not sticky then form/shape it, let is rise and put in the preheated oven! Let me know if I can help you further! Thank you again for being here and always being so AMAZING! Stay safe and blessed Andrea:)🥰

But how can you get true challah taste with no eggs? Though I am going to try this recipe!
@frumitup
@frumitup 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marlene! Thank you for watching and commenting:) It is a more a traditional challah taste than the much sweeter taste of egg challah found in stores ( which are often problematic to make the blessing bracha hamotzi ) This challah goes so well with a shabbat meal! It is fluffy and so yiiuuummm! You can add sugar for a sweeter taste you can add up to 4tbs for the recipe:) As well as eggs but then the rising time would be increased to 30-40 minutes Let me know how I can help you to do your own challah masterpiece ! If you prefer a traditional egg challah recipe here is another video ( it will take about 3hours to make from start to finish:). kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJyXd4iBga6onNE ) thank you again for watching: it means the world to me! ❤️Sara Malka❤️

@@frumitup i make this recipe every Shabbos, truly amazing! I tried adding more sugar once and it made the dough super dense. Does it just need more rising time? Also, do you add the extra sugar to the water and yeast or just put it in when you’re mixing the oil in?
@frumitup
@frumitup 2 жыл бұрын
@@itzchakbenavi thank you Troy! More sugar will get the challah more dense but if you add a bit more flour with water and sugar in the dough, you should be ok! As per the rising time, you can make it rise for a longer time if you want but not overnight or many hours as we make is with instant yeast
@zamirah3458
@zamirah3458 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing. There is no rise time after the dough if first kneaded? You go straight to braiding then rise then bake?
@frumitup
@frumitup 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Zamira thank you for your question ❤️ there’s no 2 rise time because we are using rapid / fast acting yeast You can absolutely add a rise time after kneading: your challah will be fluffier❤️ I hope it helps! Please let me know if you have any questions: I am here for you my friend🥰

Hi Ruth! It’s better to bake it and freeze it but you can also freeze the dough after shaping it. Let it thaw 2-3h until it doubles in size then bake it for 30 minutes at 350*F:) I hope it helps! Happy baking!

I thought we were supposed to eat unleavened bread on the Sabbath?
@frumitup
@frumitup 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for your comment! We mostly eat challah/ leavened bread on Shabbat and holidays ( we can eat unleavened bread but it’s not as common as challah!) except passover where we only eat unleavened bread/ matzah and no leavened bread or any leavened products at all ! Please let me know if you have any questions: I would love to help you answer them! Stay safe and blessed

@@frumitup Hi thank you for your response I'm just new to walking with God like I always walked with him but I'm knew to celebrating and learning about the feasts. So I'm trying to figure out how all this works lol! I be confused I always hear people say it's unleavened but tbh I don't understand any of the feasts let alone know what days their on and why their celebrated.
