@tigershadow1 Jon is awesome. I really don’t know how he has the energy to put out a video every other day. As for the rest of us, we can get silly at times, and we never miss a chance to poke fun at each other. If you like that sort of stuff, then you’re definitely in the right place.

@@TheJoyofWargaming at our club we have played with 3 players per side with no issues, all we did was to choose a commander for each side and they were the only ones who had jokers in their deck to reduce turns.

Odd question, but do you know where the stats for a main battle tank are? I can find the stats for an enhanced main battle tank but not for an MBT.

Yes, we had one deck per player. To determine turn order we had a separate deck of four cards to determine player order.

Hello, do you think I could use this for 10mm French and Indian war figures?
@TheJoyofWargaming
@TheJoyofWargaming 8 ай бұрын
Absolutely. You could easily scale it to a squad based game as well. If you have five man stands or whatever, it should scale pretty easily.

As usual a very nice review and look at the rules. Not too sure about them myself, they are certainly quick playing, easy to teach and ideal for beginners but at least for me something is missing. First up the elephant in the room, the lack of scenarios included with the book, given that even the author says this is the core of a good skirmish game. It is not as if there was no extra space, I mean there is a fair number of blank pages in this slim volume - something of a pet hate I admit - and if you consider this is touted as a companion piece to OHW. I have no issues with the card driven mechanic (reminds me a lot of Wiley Games Fistful of Lead series) but my gut tells me they are too random and I get the feeiing I am playing the same game be it zulus or space marines. Of course this can be a bonus for inveterate rules tinkerers like me as I tweak them to suit. Be interesting to see what happens when you try them out on the table and quite possibly prove me completely wrong

Being a very creative gamer and not constrained by any off the shelf games, I blaze my own trail of endless scenarios. I use these rules frequently and for any time period, sci-fi and horror (Zombie games). I even use them for solo play. Primarily, I use these for game convention multiplayer scenarios. In short, this is a must have for seasoned creative gamers.

Not so much. They don't make any allowance for wind direction, wearing versus tacking, or any of that stuff. For that you should check out "Blood, Bilge, and Iron Balls". It is on par with this as far as complexity is concerned.

Stop wasting our time with this extended, pointless intro! OK, this isn't showing me what I came here to learn. Oh, this description of card suit hierarchy is wrong -- it's spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs, in THAT order, the traditional method. This video suggests the opposite!
