@@joff2440 Sadly, he would be out of The Cure from the summer of 1982 through the fall of 1984. He and Robert Smith would make up just before the sessions for their 1985 album, The Head on the Door, had started. During his break from The Cure, Gallup would form a new band called Cry with Matthieu Hartley (who played keyboards with The Cure from 1979-80) and Gary Biddles, but the name of their band was soon changed to Fools Dance; while Smith would also get busy reforming The Cure with Andy Anderson on drums and Phil Thornalley (who co-produced the _Pornography_ album) on bass, as well as again finding himself in the company of Siouxsie & the Banshees as a replacement for John McGeoch (Smith previously played with The Banshees in the summer of 1979 as a fill-in for John McKay); Smith's reunion with The Banshees produced a live album and video, _Nocturne_ ; the studio album _Hyaena_ ; and also a side project with Banshees bassist Steve Severin, The Glove, which released one album, _Blue Sunshine._
@Rxgnarok5 жыл бұрын
@@Jevole-Paramoteur i remember reading that the reason for Simons more eccentric behaviour playing bass during the Pornography era was because of him being increasingly jealous of Robert getting all the attention (and the the record labels more attention on Robert than any other member) this one probably one of the reason he ended up leaving along with other things
