One Kit Wonder: Architects delivers the huge and punchy modern drum sounds that Architects drummer Dan Searle is famous for. So famous, in fact, that we’ve been getting requests for an Architects library for years!
These samples are from the exact setup used for their recent record “For Those That Wish To Exist”, for which the drums were engineered by our founder Nolly. He then mixed the samples using similar techniques and tools to those used during the mixing of their prior album “Holy Hell”, so this One Kit Wonder represents the most recent era of Architects sound.
Dan’s kit comprises a big kick drum and floor toms, with a tone-full single rack tom and hefty, low-tuned, dry snare. He plays quite an extensive array of fairly dark Zildjian cymbals, with big crashes, big hi-hats, some very cool FX cymbals, a pair of x-hats, and also an extremely crashable ride, something we know lots of GGD users have been calling out for.
It’ll come as no surprise, to those in the know, that the Middle Farm Studios live room provides an exciting and enveloping ambience that you can turn up loud for rich and organic results without washing out the punch of the close mics.
The samples in this pack are unashamedly heavily processed to give you a polished commercial sound, but the library was also recorded in more detail than any other of our releases to date. There’s an unparalleled dynamic range, which gives an extremely realistic result when playing on an e-kit or doing in-depth programming.
Despite being a signature library, this kit is also going to be great for other styles like active rock and metalcore, even country-rock… anything that requires a combination of blunt, punchy drums with washy traditional-sounding cymbals and a killer room sound.
It’s our hope that this sample library will remove frustrating barriers in your creative process so that you can enjoy making music to the fullest.

@@bigbutler87 guy is an absolute riff machine without even trying, and composing some tasty pieces pretty quick. He always popping out bangers on these demos, I don't think he realizes these demos are better than much of the mainstream crap getting dropped out there. And I'd bet the farm there would be singers lined up around the block to pop in on a track just to say they worked with Nolly Getgood. Or even do contests with the multi tracks and let us play with the songs and write/sing on em and put the winners on an album. No need to pay for studio time, just do this for a fun little side project. Call it "For the People" or something lol.

Always good to see artists standing behind their own products. Obviously this is a GGD demo but I’m referring to the Archetype Nolly plugin I caught a glimpse of. Seems like a lot of custom artist products are gimmicky, or at the very least, not something that they would actually choose to record with. But the Nolly suite is the real deal! Just picked it up a couple weeks ago and to me it’s the perfect amp sim, exactly what I was looking (listening?) for.

I first listened to this and other demos on soundcloud and noticed on there and now the KZbin videos that this particular track is much less processed and kinda dry, especially in comparison to other GGD demo's etc you've done.. a much lower volume too... new mastering process here or just not as much processing done in this case? Just a time thing or a deliberate move? Interested to know.
