I experienced rise on switch from the beginning, logging in with friends everytime there was a title update was great, new monsters to hunt and new builds to try. Im gonna miss switch skills they gave a nice variety of playstyles. I will never forget risen shaggy, risen vals and primordial malzeno, those fights where pure fire.

I love Risebreak as it was my first Monster Hunter Game and it has a special place in my heart. I love the fast-paced combat with the wirebugs and the hunting helpers with being living yet helpful creatures. Most of all, I love the story, the characters/followers, the monsters and the anomaly grind. I personally love Risebreak for whatever they had to offer and I enjoyed it all flaws and all. It may not be World and I would never want to it to be,but it is my most favorite Monster Hunter Game. Risebreak is an inredible game that will never be forgotten to me. I am looking forward to see all in Wilds for more fun and hunting especially with the story. Incredible video!

I’ve made so many fun memories with Rise and Sunbreak as this was my first MH game. The gameplay made this one of my absolutely favorite games to play, even after four years later. Regarding the music, as soon as I heard the Kamura Village theme and Shrine Ruins battle theme, it immediately clicked with me that the soundtrack was going to be a banger. I loved what Sunbreak improved upon the base. The followers were such a fun addition as they provided support when I couldn’t get help online for master rank quest. Lastly, I adore the monsters they introduced in this game, primarily Magnamalo and Primordial Malzeno. As of now, it’s my current most-played game on my Nintendo Switch, clocking in over 700 hours over the course of four years.

Rise was my first mh game ever and it’s my favorite I didn’t really care that it was “unfinished” I had so much fun while playing it I enjoyed it for what it was an amazing game. I also really liked the anomaly system thought it was fun and now at AR 300 I can comfortably fight whatever I want. Also I never understood so many of the complaints when it came to some things about rise like people would complain about stuff without putting any thought into WHY the game has it. I’ve also enjoyed how recently I’ve seen some KZbinrs start playing rise and realizing hey this games actually really fun why did it get so much hate? Anyway I’m excited for wilds and can’t wait to see what it brings but I hope that when mh portable 6 starts to show its face people return to rise to appreciate the best game the portable team has made and it’s successor

That final bit at the end of the video where you went over what Rise meant to you actually kinda hit home for me, so much so that it got me thinking about why I find this game to be so special. Even as someone who’s been hunting since the third and fourth gen, Rise in particular is probably the most special game in the series in a lot of aspects for me. Not only did I involve myself more in MH’s community, but I also got to meet some new friends around the time of Sunbreak’s release that I can proudly say I’ve forged bonds with that can last a lifetimes worth! Whether someone loves or hates a particular entry in the series, you can’t deny it’s unique seeing everyone’s different experiences and stories with these titles that can stay with you for a long time. That’s one of the many reasons I think this franchise is so great!

Having played a few MH titles before World but really getting into it with 3U, I have to say it was a fun change of pace. Adding palamutes and wire bugs to speed up traversal was a good call, and in my opinion the Hunting Horn and the Gunlance are the best they’ve ever been under the banner of MHR. I’m looking forward to Wilds but I will miss those two play styles A LOT.

Upon getting my switch and after playing botw I played MHGU, I got good enough to solo some g4 quests and even soloing ahtal ka. I was very much interested in worlds but I was too immersed in playing games of such quality in handheld that I held off on buying it for the ps4 until a later time. Seeing the first reveal trailer of rise in that Nintendo direct excited me so much because I was still enamored with playing on the switch on handheld. Safe to say, I just waited for rise instead of getting world but I'll never think world was bad but now? It's a game I'll never form any opinions on while waiting for wilds.

Just like you said, the only "challenge" left in World are alatreon/fatalis and probably some arch-tempered event quest Heck, even arch-tempered doesn't differ that much compared to original one in terms of moveset and doesnt give much except new armor that after you finish it, you're done Anomaly investigation gave "new breath" for every monster. Even though people saying "it only a normal monster with bloated HP and attack", it gives reason to change your strategy and calculation because you have to squish more damage while not getting hit at all, even to low tier monster such as baggi And the afflicted material can be obtained from various monster so you're not stuck with only 1 monster About the "end game gacha" part, every monster hunter have that. MH4U with relic weapon and guild quest, Gen with talisman, World with decos, and Rise with talisman+Qurio augment The thing is, you can make a decent set easily in Rise-SB without OP talisman or high roll qurio augment But you CAN'T make a proper set without good decos on world And worse, fatalis set is basically a blank canvas that you need to "paint" with decos Oh you want to play pierce hbg ? Good luck on finding that mind's eye deco You want to play lance ? Don't forget to find that guard up deco And many more such as charge blade and other weapon that has core skill locked by decos gacha So yeah, Rise sunbreak provide better endgame, better armor creation, better QoL, and better gacha system compared to World
@ZennyHunter19 сағат бұрын
I will agree with that aspect of anomaly investigations, Capcom did also later patch them so that the grind wasnt quite as tedious which was one of my original issues!
@Cosmopaladin19 сағат бұрын
A8, and A9 afflicted monsters also got new hazard movesets at AR251+, and AR271+ respectively. Specials got that plus a blanket 50% increase to all AoE, and Projectile size. They really did do more then just bloat HP, and Damage. AR quests also size locked, and hp locked by time. So they where a lot more consistent then other quests in the game. Also AR181+ you could every quest in an arena which solved the spiritbird issue.
@boahnoa99Күн бұрын
Great video going over the positive and negative aspects of Rise. Only issue I have is when describing anomaly investigations you said they basically all one shot you, which is just not true. If you upgrade your armor and collect spirit birds (I know they suck but you have to do it), then anomaly monster’s damage feels fair and they definitely don’t one shot. Even at very high levels like 250+. I do agree that their health bloat was too much. Despite that I still massively prefer anomaly investigations to Iceborne’s endgame which, as you said, is basically just fighting Fatalis over and over again.

Your MH journey mirrors mine a lot, World was my first MH game and while I did stumble through the campaign I put the game down shortly after due to just not knowing what I was doing or how the game worked. I picked the game back up for the iceborne expansion and then things started to click. So Rise was also my first MH game that I got to play with knowledge of the gameplay and also experiencing the title updates with the community, it was a lot of fun and it’ll always have a special place. To this day I get disappointed about not being to experience World that way so I am extremely hype for Wilds and having that experience with everyone else. So don’t feel like it’s cringe to feel like you missed out or look back on releases a certain way because I’m right there with you.

Ide much rather collect the birds once per hunt then continuously upkeep tenderizing every hunt. The anomaly grind is reminiscent of 4u guild quests to me so i enjoyed the anomaly grind. It felt like i was making more meaningful progression than praying i got that oh so rare attack jewel. Being a hunter that started with mh3u and my first full game from release being mh4u dont take this as me dumping on world/iceborne. I loved world/iceborne. Playing the beta seeing how much of a departure world was from previous titles and fighting the arguably hardest version of nergigante was so fun and exciting. All this to say world was great but i think rise in improved on it in terms of progression systems and a meaningful endgame where you had more options to fight at the highest tiers. While world definitely had the better look, combat feel, maps, etc. Idk either way i will love every monster hunter game. Ive been with the series since 2012 and probably always will be.

Did i enjoy rise/sunbreak? yes, but for me it did felt off compared to other mh games(started since mh tri), the combat felt too fast compared to other mh games and that's mostly due to the wirebugs. I also did not like how easily the wirebugs could help me recover after being hit.

Rise had some of the weakest collaboration in years. Akuma and Amaterasu were awesome. Sonic fans were eating good too. As someone who started with Rise after all Sunbreak's updates, playing till the end of the anomaly grind, and has just finished World's main story, I prefer Rise's gameplay, but I might have liked World's more if it had better maps. Also one of the funny things you can do with Rampages is going in with full end-game gear and ripping through the monsters like they're cardboard. Immersion breaking but hilarious. And as someone who started with Rise as the first game, I LOVE the anomaly grind. I genuinely don't understand the problem with getting 2-3 shot but that might be because I usually had dango defender which basically acted like divine blessing. Regardless, planning to hunt all the Monsters in World (excluding Kulve) before getting to Iceborne, and hope to see why so many people hold this game in such high regards.

I love world to death for its easy to get into nature and love rise for its flashy ass gameplay. I think world is better for its simplicity and think Rise does better in combat and pacing. World had great monsters but it was lacking in Diversity of monster while Rise had diversity in its monsters. Wilds is gonna be good because it strikes the perfect balance of Flashy and Grounded ganeplay and from what we've seen the monsters are very diverse.

Playing the beta for Wilds, I think it feels like they are combining the two different styles of HH, and from what I’ve played it feels great.

On the point of anomalies, I argue that's just fine way to increase endgame difficulty. There aren't that many meaningful ways to increase difficulty, not to mention that the player base, at the very least, reddit, seems to hate rising difficulties in any form. Increasing stat (anomalies/tempered)? Artificial. Raid boss (safijiva)? Artificial. Damage check, specific weapon setup, and semi-mandatory partbreaking (alatreon)? Artificial. Increase monster attack ranges (AT namielle/velkana). Artificial. I'm no game developer, so I can't come up with anything else to increase difficulties "genuinely". As a player, they are all fun to me subjectively.

I also prefer the slower aspects of the older games (and wish they emphasized the pre-hunt planning more instead of having meals and inventory restock whenever you want), yet the ones I have more fun with are GU and Rise which are more action/flashy oriented games.

This is a bit of a long one, but this series is really dear to me :D I have played every game since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and in no way would I say any of them were "bad". Were some better than others? Of course. But with every new entry my excitement just gets renewed, and it's almost like starting the series all over again. I was thrilled for World, Rise, and currently Wilds all pretty equally. I never thought about Rise being a "downgrade", because I understood the cycle at that point, releasing "mainline" and "portable/experimental" games in tandem. The debate between World and Rise was always strange to me, knowing that aforementioned cycle. World and Rise are both undeniably Monster Hunter, but they are MEANT to be vastly different games, and both appeal to the two core aspects of the series: immersion and combat, respectively. World has a much more intriguing and immersive world (lol), while Rise has a much more fleshed-out combat system. As such, both have their pros and cons. For me, it's a little difficult. I would personally say that World is my preferred game, as it overall had more of an impact on me when I started it, but at this point in time I have no desire to go back to it. Being an almost strictly solo player, I found Alatreon (and even Safi to some degree) to be a hurdle that--after having been away from the game for so long--I have no interest in crossing. Skill issue, I know. Then with Rise, I just recently beat Amatsu with zero issue. It was very fun, but too easy. So, I think World got too hard and inaccessible to solo players in the endgame, Rise's endgame was too easy overall (I don't see myself going very deep into Anomaly territory, same way the Guiding Lands put me off), and I am really hoping that Wilds is the Goldilocks middle-ground I'm looking for in terms of difficulty. As a summation of my thoughts because I feel like I'm ranting at this point: World is the better game, not to Rise's detriment, but I am ultimately done with it, especially with Wilds on the horizon. And Rise is the more FUN game, but at some point, its difficulty made me feel more like I was playing Final "Crazy Boss Simulator" Fantasy and not Monster Hunter. Tl;dr I AM SO READY FOR WILDS AAAAAAAAAA

I was one of those people who didnt like rise all that much initially as it just felt way too different from the other mh games i played, specifically spiritbirds, wirebugs and there not being any real endgame was my biggest points of contention. Over time i gave the game a second shake a year or so after it made it onto PlayStation with sunbreak. Base game still didnt have much to do after the allmother and valstrax, but sunbreak remedied most of my issues with base rise. Got used to wirebugs, spiritbirds couldn't be ignored but at least could be mitigated, and anomaly quests added a bit more hunting variety to the endgame grind. I do go back to my switch file every once in a while to mess with stuff. But i guess even when its a mh game i dont particularly like ill still put 200 hrs in it lol

This is my 4rd MH title. First being Portable 3rd, 2nd one being 3U, 3rd one being World and last Rise. As someone who started on Portable 3rd which didn't have a unique mechanic of its own, unlike the both previous games of the Consoles (2DOS, AND 3TRI/3U). RISE IT'S FUN, IT'S UNIQUE, IT HAS A GIMMICK OF IT'S OWN, and overall, its not FU TRASH, (as FU didn't do anything innovative outside from letting you bring your cat with you to a Hunt, and giving us Nargacuga, and Ukanlos, things that were relevant on the release of the expansion, but it has less importance since 3TRI and p3rd fixed hitboxes, let us take 2 companions being cha-cha and Kayamba, and 2 felynes respectively, and considering a fixed version of Akantor and Ukanlos was on portable 3rd, with all the new weapons moves Which did give us more ways to approach and take them both down). I might not have reached guild/gathering hub quests from base game, and i reached World's base High Rank before stopping to play it, but not because i disliked it, i got burnt out (because something similar happen to me, i don't get bored, but i get burnt out, i like switching from game to game even our from the franchise to keep things fresh, and even if i take more time to finish a game, i end up enjoying more this way) and i got no way to run it properly on PC... But RISE IS FUN, i'm having as much fun as i was having in world, even though i've progressed faster on Rise base game. I think its mostly because I was adapting to all the new moves the weapons had on World, jumping full on it without touching 4U or 3U. But knowing the control scheme of 5th gen, i think it made more sense and it was easier to control my hunter on Rise, even though i had to learn the wirebugs and get used to them.

For my Take on the Anomaly Grind you don't need to max it out to unlock the Best Decorations and they did later on in the title updates make level in earlier Levels Easier but you don't need to do them unless you want a harder challenge Also If Wilds Has Little to No Elder Dragons at Launch Base Rise Launch Had that too and I didn any problem with that and Ultimately Rise and Sunbreak gave me of ny favorite Monsters of all Time and Some I Want as Monsties in Stories 3 Like the Risen Elder Dragons or Gismagorm and Ibushi and even Lunagaron and Espinas too but one thing people need to give more respect is Subspecies especially because Base Rise Was 95% Base Monsters Only Besides Allmother Nawra Crimson Glow Valstrax and the Apex Monsters and Im More Hype about how they can make Cool Versions of that Species Type it's another reason why I Consider the Risen Elder Dragons the Best Monsters in the Seriers

My biggest problem with Rise is how voicing any criticism that is not about the Rampages is swiftly met with being labelled a "World fanboy" or "Unnatural History Channel simp". I thought most of Rise's """new""" features just needlessly replaced systems Generations already had. Apparently Rise was made as a big homage to GenU, but I vastly prefer the Absolute Evasion and Hunter Arts. I also feel like very little in Rise feels like there's weight behind it. My favourite weapons are all heavy ones and especially the Hunting Horn feels just a bit... devoid of punch? Definitely not a fan of Wyvern Riding either, invaders were just kind of made irrelevant because of it when ultimately they just serve as a free topple on the monster you're actually hunting. This bodes especially bad for Rajang who is genuinely MIA unless you specifically look for him to wake him up. Certain monsters like Nargacuga, Bazelgeuse and Rajang again feel like shells of their former selves. But, Rise naturally has undeniable qualities. With the hype behind Zinogre vs. Amatsu, the return to a Japanese style, the return of two well-liked maps, Rise feels like an anniversary title. I like basically all the returning monsters (Astalos, sweet prince, you'll probably have to sit out Wilds), and most new ones are great as well. Rise is a good game, no doubt about it. But the lowest lows outweigh its highest highs to me. To me, Rise will forever pale to what came before in Generations and World, and it probably will pale again compared to what comes after when Wilds comes about in 5 weeks.

I'll defend this game tooth to nail. Yes, Its not perfect. Yes, its extremely flawed (namely Qurio armors crafting, and the slog that is the base game.) But the game after Sunbreak release is fun! I argued that it did a lot of things better than World. Better and more engaging story, more consistent overall quality with TUs, incredible customizability with switch skills, accessible layered armors and weapons, less annoying monster's ai, better input detection and even the roaster of monsters in the game. Its not a perfect 10/10 but its still an enjoyable experience.

Joined the series around the time Zenny did and rise was my first full title aswell. My biggest gripe is that they said Rise will not be coming to PC. Bummer so I bought a switch. 1 year later it came to PC. now I had to rebuy and replay it. I wholly enjoyed Rise and 100% it twice (Switch base, PC both) Never again will I talk myself into a console again for a game

Wonderful video man :) Rise was a good game, but Sunbreak is what really elevated it to a great game, for me at least. A lot of people were understandably upset with the direction Rise took, disregarding much of the more methodical and immersive elements World prided itself upon, like the tracking system, endemic life, and unique environmental interactions. It still had some of these things, sure, but they were mostly gone and in their place was... wyvern riding and rampages. The game was more interested in making you feel like a badass using counters and hyper mobility to dance around giant monsters than trying to make the world feel grounded and have you (the hunter) be just another part of a living ecosystem. As such base Rise was an immense disappointment for many, including myself, who loved the direction that World took the series in. There was a sizable mismatch in what players expected and what was delivered, not to mention that it was just plain unfinished on launch. The biggest strength the game had was its combat, and even then the faster pace just didn't click with a lot of people. The devs were aware of this, so with more time on their hands and a strong vision they went on to make what I would consider the best expansion the series has seen so far. They knew combat was Rise's strongest quality, so they doubled down on it and added tons of features for Sunbreak that in my eyes finally made up for what the base game was lacking. -Even more switch skills and playstyle options -Swapping between playstyles on the fly with the Switch Skill Swap -Every weapon "branch" can be upgraded to a final level, allowing for more endgame weapon variety and options -New unique skills that allow for further build variety (Foray, Buildup boost, Sneak Attack, Berserk, Strife, Bloodlust, Furious, Heaven-Sent) -Better elemental weapon balance (Elemental Great Sword and especially Hammer are actually viable now) -Follower quests/Followers allow you to actually connect with and bond the NPCs by hunting with them (no more "WE did it pard!") Sunbreaks combat is simply sublime, and got me into weapons that I never really clicked with in the past (GL, IG, Lance, Swax) And of course some absolutely spectacular fights and returning monsters; Daimyo Hermitaur, Espinas, Seregios, the Magalas, Chameleos, Lucent Nargacuga, Primordial Malzeno, Amatsu, and I could go on. Alongside many QOL features and a decent story (better than Iceborne at least lol) Sunbreak basically saved Rise and made it stand out as a worthwhile entry, albeit one with a strong focus on fast paced combat over all else. And sometimes, that's just the flavor of Monster Hunter I'm in the mood for.

My first mh game was world and I loved it, when I got rise I was a disappointed with how it looked and felt, but ever since I got sun break, I’ve learned to love what the game offered, world was amazing because it felt real, like I was there apart of the ecosystem, rise however wasn’t realistic, and I’m still disgusted with what they did with the food, but the combat is awesome, I especially loved fighting malzeno and the ice werewolf (forgot the name) but other monsters like gore magala and magnamalo were also really fun to fight
@gojira40363 сағат бұрын
I prefer rise because It’s my first game in the franchise, funny anime sword and anime movements, the hunting horn was soo cool that I made an OC out of it (my Roleplay days 😅) and Magnamalo being my favorite monster, my first flagship, and the main reason I got into monster hunter, I only need to finish the primordial malzeno and scorned Magnamalo hunt before I’m ready to play wilds

I bloody loved rise more then world. It's amazing and disappointing how many people dislike the game. Yeah world was good but I never really enjoyed the pacing in it. Thought it was a bit slow and clunky. I love Rises fast pace style and the wire bugs were a cool addition. Aa a switch axe main thar struggled with that weapon in world in both rise and sunbreak they made switch axe a powerful weapon and Insect glaive was quality is well being in the air constantly and dodging I felt like I was dancing most of the time 😅. I am looking forward to wilds especially by having two weapons. But I will miss rise dearly and will always go back to it. Plus the monsters they added: malzeno primordial malzeno magnmalo lunagardon were so cool and the return of gore magala astalos hopefully at least malzeno makes an appreance in wilds or valstrax

I liked world and rise, I started in world around the time when raging brachy and fury rajang came out, however I understand the lower capabilities of the switch, however I think rise did really well with what limitations that the switch presented, I go back to play both, I might be a little bit more biased towards rise since I played since day one release, so I’ve sunk more time into rise(I also prefer the fast combat speed). Regardless, I’ll always love monster hunter as a series

Wilds brought my MH love back. I’ve played it since the PS2 & only played base MHW for about 250hrs (not much in MH terms). Rise/Sunbreak was on Xbox GamesPass and I bought it on Jan 1st. It’s now the 25th and I’ve already clocked 160+hrs. It’s fun. It’s different. I don’t get the divisions between communities. They’re both cool & Wilds is just around the corner. Rampages were kinda lame tho lol. Let’s not do that again.

Rise was my first Monster Hunter and while i do prefer World I still love Rise, its a cake vs pie situation. I like Cake but i also like pie. The only thing i disliked about Rise really was the wirebugs as a weapon resource Because where it is on the UI is something i dislike having to look at, and i disliked how it often had your best damage abilities while also just feeling clunky coming to and from combos. Despite that, i love switch skills and how they changed playstyles heavilly for some weapons. Switch skills are something ill miss from Rise into Wilds but i look forward to what comes next

A lot of my friends have only played World never gave Rise a chance and it's always bugged me, like sure, the games has it's flaws but it's not like World doesn't! Clutch Claw? RNG Decos? Slap on weapons? Lower number of monsters? And as you mentioned a flat endgame experience. If you enjoyed World the only thing stopping you from enjoying Rise is you.

World was kinda my first MH game and it bored me too much, until I played GU and a year later tried Rise. Rise/Sunbreak has been the most fun I’ve had with the franchise. To add to it, after completing sunbreaks story and doing a lot of anomaly farming I tried World again, got to Iceborn and it was a bore, I don’t understand how people would see some of the most engaging and complex game mechanics in the game and call it bad. And then go to to slog that is World and call it the best of the whole franchise, not even being the best in its generation. Anyway play portable 3rd.

To me Rise does feel too arcadey to grab me as hard as World did. However the main reason I stopped playing it wasn't that: I play on PC. Discovered Rise has a severe issue with joystick snapback turning. No way to adjust deadzone in game. Alright, gonna do it through Steam aaaaand... Audio engine hardcrashes on startup. Don't ask me HOW it POSSIBLY manages too, but for 3 years and across 2 different PC's, even resetting the deadzones in Steam to default, clean reinstalls of the game and everything else on the machine, including as stated swapping to a new one all together, issue still remains. Costumer Support ignored me. I am baffled as to how this seeming account corruption could happen from DEADZONE ADJUSTMENT but hey here we are.

Rise was lots of fun, but World? World was a god damn phenomenon. For the first time in decades of MH fandom a lot of us MH nerds FINALLY got our friends to join us cause World was just so hype at launch. Rise didn't do that. Rise made the new fans ask when World 2 was coming. I played World with all my friends clocked over 450 hours on console and 900+ on PC. I played Rise, solo and with pub groups. No one showed up. World wins, hands down. No matter how much I enjoyed Rise I can admit it was no where near as relevant culturally.
@navi8801Күн бұрын
I noticed this problem when i bought rise on steam deck, whenever you sent out an sos for pubs, it was rare for someone to show up. On switch, even to this day, the party gets filled within 2 mins or so! 95% of the time it was usually japanese players, rise is the first time i really got to see how they play, and man... they are cracked! The reason risebreak on pc felt so empty was due to steams "download reigon" lock. You had to get a mod to play with people outside of it, no idea why they decided to go that direction
@abyssalrayz9499Күн бұрын
World was released on consoles as priority. Of course it reached a wider audience. Risebreak still the better game tho.
@SetuaroКүн бұрын
I entered the MH series well after World stopped being updated consistently and way post Iceborne. Rise of course was graphically not quite my favourite for the obvious points as was discussed. That's not to say I didn't give it a fair shot though, I enjoyed the combat and I liked the diversity in playstyle aswell as just having a palamute and a palico (or 2 of either) was very interesting to me. However, with things like the 2nd zone (The icy one), the graphical downgrade was so obvious to the point it was actually off-putting for me to play it after I'd gotten so used to World. I like Rise for its mechanical depth just as much as world aswell as it's faster pace, graphical is the only reason why I don't play it. I don't think I'll ever consider Rise a "latest" game, even if it is, I'll always view it more as that one game they made for accessability's sake. A quick and easy cash-grab by pulling in another console into the mix. Regardless, I can appreciate all it's brought to the table and hope to see some things return to wilds like the switch skills and depth to your companions

I played MH:W for the 3rd time after Sunbreak. The lack of parries made me feel bad... Yes, Maybe Rise had too many parries, but I Just cant go back to MHW Lance after Sunbreak's Lance. Algo with Metsu Shoryugeki missing, which is sooo much fun on the SnS made me feel crippled. Also RNG Decos is frustrating and lacks build diversity. While RNG Charms provides more fun while build making and more build diversity. (In my honest opinion) In fact: RNG Decos is so bad, they had to patch it with The Greatest Jagrass event (later the lava boy) quest to get new players up to speed with Decos. The problem with Rise/Sunbreak is the endgame: Rise had none. Sunbreak had too much and too grindy. Meanwhile MHW:IB had the perfect endgame in my view: the Guiding lands (It is grind, yes, but better disguised and back to back, no loading screens)

Man I started my Monster Hunter journey as a lil ass kid during MH3U and as the years have gone by we have seen some incredible MH titles and expansions. But it’s something about Rise for me that just stands out and ion really know how to explain it fr. Maybe it’s the new ninja like movements or the fact that we get Palamutes now to ride on and add to our style and how we hunt making gameplay fun, immersive and exciting. It’s just something about using the new added wirebugs to spice up a combo and add some flash to your step fr. I bought Rise twice as well, it was just so fun that I had to bring it over to the PS5. Think Rise is definitely one of our top underrated titles for sure 🔥🙏🏽😭

If you want to experience "best of" old games then you should get Generations Ultimate, its on the Nintendo Switch and it's a sort of anniversary and celebration of the franchise so it has a lot of monsters. Some of the gameplay is quite different so you should watch some tutorials before you jump into "old world".

both games had some bad stuff, in rise wirebug fall is just bad, takes away half the punish of making a mistake, even if they tried to balance or make some monster punish a bad wirefall. In Iceborne softening parts was almost mandatory so it was tedious. I like both but World more, Rise dumbed down many things but added enough to make an unique game, its way better than just having a port of World with bad graphics. Its just more MH, i dont know what is to complain about lol. People that didnt play Sunbreak missed on a lot, so many cool monsters that couldnt make it to World for example.

Honestly really disappointed that switch skills didn't make it into Wilds, they are a really cool way of letting you customize how you play (even if the execution could be better imo). For how much hate it got, the game is still Capcom's 2nd biggest sale number of all time iirc, so I'm hoping they'll keep making games like it instead of only doing World-style games.
