In high school I remember not being able to get into PSP MH with my class mates. Now more than a decade later I have 200+ hours on MHW. I guess the QoL improvements really helped me to get into MH.

I couldnt get into repeatedly chasing monsters around. That was so off putting that none of the other hooks mattered.

There is something I thing no one ever even thinks about but, my first time playing Monster Hunter World I played as Guts from Berserk and one of the things that strikes me is that Nergi has a LOT of features that look closely like Zod the Immortals Apostle form. Massive Horns, Cat like features, RAW POWER, get stronger in combat. I think I'm the only one that sees that.

I have played MH since their 1st game up to MH Wilds beta. They are above avg games for sure I played everyone of them but they never got me hooked. I find it tiring to remember which angle to be standing at for the punish with every monster. Mostly I just Fomo finish the game, put it down and don't talk about it again like many other titles.

Ruiner is actually a "evolution" of the regular nergi. A ruiner happens when a normal nergigante absorbs a LOT of bio energy (which is why ruiners spikes look like the crystals in the elders recesses) so theoretically if a nergigante survived long enough with a regular enough amount of elders to hunt down i imagine a nergi could become a deviant that could hunt black dragons (ruiner is a variant which in MH means a normal creature that had something happen to it which changed it. A deviant is what a variant is but with an even more extreme event that changed the monster even more)

@goofyahhvalstraxproductions 8 сағат бұрын
less about bioenergy, more about repeatedly fighting powerful monsters, having its spikes broken several times over; Nergigante's spikes regrow tougher every time they're broken, eventually they start going through a form of mutation and that's what gives Ruiner its spikes and its title

Ah nice so I was on the right lines, everything I saw stated this wasn't confirmed but heavily implied. Do you know if there's a source to confirm this, if so I'll add it to the description!

I personally thought it was an older Nergi who’s spikes essentially calcified and regrow way slower which would also explain why Ruiner seems less chaotic in now it fights and a lot more precise. And from there I’d assume Nergi just age very fast due to their lifestyle and compensate by breeding faster than you’d expect.
@memeboi3448
@memeboi3448 3 сағат бұрын
@thecod2345 it is an older nergi but considering how much they can regenerate there is a good chance the species can't die from old age. As for the speed it's a similar reason to why frostfang barioth is slower. Age has made it wiser so it calculates its attacks instead of essentially trying to jump whatever it's opponent is

Monster Hunter games before World forces you to make GOOD DECISIONS and punishes BAD DECISIONS. You learn to observe, to be patient, and to identify openings, either to land attacks or to drink pots. If you don't learn these things, YOU GET PUNISHED. If you recognize that an attack is imminent and you still drink that pot ON THE SPOT, then you take the L for tryna flex in front of a raging Diablos lmao. That's the old school hardcore Monster Hunter. As for World? Too casualized, too Westernized. Too many things streamlined. This is why Japanese players queue up to fight boss raids and Western players don't.

When I first tried the game, I chose hunting horn as my weapon... I was playing solo. Hunting horn is a wonderful weapon, but not one I would suggest on your first playthrough, especially if you don't play a lot of games and don't have anyone to play with. It wasn't until a few years later, when my boyfriend got the game for me (I had previously tried it on Game Pass, so I didn't own it), and I picked up dual blades that I started to understand the game. Even then, it didn't "click", until I fought the adorable tar Beyblade, Radobaan (who is the best monster ever). I had a connection error, and because I was playing with my bf it was my first solo fight, since my first time playing the game. I was overwhelmed, but, by the end of the fight, my attitude had pivoted from just playing the game to spend time with my bf to, not just playing to spend time with him, but genuinely just wanting to play the game.

I think it's a good feeling that when you're helping a novice hunter, it just brings you back when you were a novice as well. Sometime people forget where they started their journey through the World of Monster Hunter.

The only thing i will say, is the story is considerably deep and wide. However, it requires the player to actually watch the cutscenes, actually read the very text heavy dialogues; It is unfortunate that the games story is currently in a place that has such a wide library of context that it accidentally forgets new players havent read up on the lore. It acknowledges this by giving the player the option to skip the cutscenes and ignore the story because the social buzz of the game talk about the epic moments in the hunts, the moment the long sword user Crashes down, slicing off a tail, or a hammer reflects a charging Barioth by smashing its head into ground with the Big Bang. While i appreciate long term fans all love those hype moments, as we should be, new or incoming players who experience dont get to those kids of 'hype' moments right out the gate, and because of that this metaphorical 'hump' you describe as a click moment exists. You cant put new players up against the hype creatures because they require in game knowledge and understanding that can be better taught by low rank creatures like the great wyverns, Baggi, Velocidromes, Jagras, Giros, and more. As an experienced hunter, i Absolutely understand both sides of the fence you suggested in the video. The 'give it time' advocators, The 'Hard to get into, worth the effort' Passifying rhetoric sadly does apply directly to the hype train moments that draw alot of players back. However, the storytelling and world building is so incredible and vibrant when you give it time to land. A perfect example is the 5th fleet botanist growing a giant tree in The Base when you invest time and resources in him as the story progresses! The chef and his partners cooking more elaborate meals as you spend time in the new world where they have learned to use more and more of the local materials and resources. Its special and often people forget that the commision have sent you as part of a research and development fleet to the new world. Not just unga bunga i want your bones and scales for weapons. (Although that is part of the core gameplay loop)

I never knew how to describe this feeling but now I can, I had two clicking points, my first clicking point was against anjanath when I realized I had to actually take risks or I was going to run out of time. The second clicking point was later on when I got to iceborne, at that time I had not carted once the whole game and because of that I had never learned early on that carting was a part of the game so I would only do the iceborne story missions with other people. This all changed when I got to velkhana and I carted instead of it being catastrophic like I used to think it was I realized in my head “that’s not that bad really.”

The best advice? Find a monster you hate then turn it into your Rival. Greatsword user since Freedom Unite, the clicking point for me was playing with my Brother (Gunner fanatic) during the psp years and we fell in love after we got carted by a Bulldrome. For the "Time consuming" issue its why I got a Switch I'll be playing this whenever and wherever I want. Wilds will be good either way because it's MH core gameplay will be there just hopefully they have a proper story this time around 😅

I got MHW when it was a few dollars just to try it back in 2022, I didn’t get it, played it for an hour and thought it wasn’t fun. Came back to it in 2023 and it just clicked after I watched a GS progression guide and I’ve been hooked ever since. That initial part of the game is just overwhelming due to how much stuff they introduce all at once. But after you got the knowledge the game truly opens up and you realize you’re in the world and loving it. Masterpiece! I recommend it to everyone.

I started with the first psp game and stuck with it since, few pretty heavy disagreements with some of the decisions the franchise made later on but overall amazing run with the franchise. That is untill wilds, im skipping wilds, don't have to state my reasons why because the cry babies will just start a yap fest in the comments about it. It just doesn't "click" with me. If you plan on getting the game then have fun and happy hunting 💪.

Why am i always late to these videos? Anyways something to note about the idea of safi and fatalis having a rivalry is the saffire of the emperor attack. It can destroy a hunter who can survive countless insane attacks in an instant but doesn't do any damage to the rocks you can hide behind almost as if it is only useful against biological material. And what better way to kill a creature with insane regeneration then essentially a mini nuke that only really harms said dragon (and any unfortunate insects and other small animals in the area)

I love the gameplay of Monster Hunter World, it's just baffling to me that I was basically unable to start making a coherent build before hitting Master Rank. I am now farming Raging Brachydios to make the Long Sword and I am still not entirely free to build the way I want. Mainly because I am missing the decorations I want. This part of the game feels like it's way too stingy. Also, I am entirely unsure where to get the better looking Layered Armors... The game doesn't tell you anything. There are popups for mechanics that are straight forward and self-explanatory, but never for the things that could actually use an explanation.
