I guess this is your KZbin version of Spring Cleaning huh 😂😂😂 Sorry, when I saw your title and that it was about a cleaners, that's the first thing that came to mind. Just a cute little joke that randomly popped into my head☺ But seriously, every time I see a cleaners it reminds me of a friend I used to have when I was about 11 years old in 1969. She was 16 and had a car. My sister and I and a few others in the neighborhood were all in drum and bugle core together. So every week all of us used to meet at the cleaners to go to practice. She had a Volkswagen Bettle Bug and about six of us use to squeeze into that itty bitty car and drive to practice together. It's so weird how this video just reminded me of that. Our little drum and bugle core was also in the St Patrick's day parade in Chicago that year too. None of what I said even pertains to your video so I should just delete it and start over. I guess what you just did for me though is to remind me of some really great happy memories! So maybe your cleaners was still standing for a reason. So thank you for that ❤😘🥳

This is absolutely one of my favorite signs. It’s gonna be weird going by there without seeing that sign there. It was a pleasure running into you today and your cousin Wayne brother! I truly appreciate your unwavering support over all the years I have been doing this. 🫵😎🫵💯⛈️‼️ Your words of encouragement really stick with me Brother I really appreciate you

I wish I could post pictures in the YT comments. I just happened to snap a picture of that place back during the January cold snap. That sign, though, it would be amazing if someone saved and preserved it.

It is a very cool sign one of the better ones I’ve seen around and I am sure somebody’s already got their name on that sign repo man. I’m surprised it lasted this long to be honest with you.

Love the name of this Series "Last Goodbyes". Very Cool but surreal too. Sad that every town has these places and memories in it😎✌🙏.

thank you Terry I always thought that that was appropriate for these places. As far as the last time filming them would be the last time anybody sees them therefore it’s a Last Goodbye. We have discussed this many times amongst each other considering everything around there’s nothing quite like Gary, Indiana. Once it was so grand and the city of the century, and now to see it become what it is crazy. However, now there’s new hope being breathed into the city with all the demolishment and cleaning up. I always enjoy when you leave your comments and thoughts. Thank you so much you’re an awesome lady! 🫵❤️😉🌹

Can't help but wonder if someone has pictures of this place from back when it was in operation. With that sign lit up. Wonder what year it opened. Who "The Smith's" were. Where their kids went to school. These were all tight knit communities, once upon a time.

Is the sign still there ?

I have not been that way in a while. I’m sure it probably is. Somebody needs to get it before it gets all destroyed.

This was one of the first places I photographed here, circa 2020. Another gem was that old Amoco station near Emerson (mostly gone now) and of course the old Auditorium, my aunt had her high school graduation party there back in the late 60's.

I know exactly the gas station that you were talking about. They have stripped it down to basically nothing but the little brick building down the street from Emerson. We also got lucky and filmed the auditorium before they demolished it. My mom was saying the same thing that they used to have all kinds of special Parties and graduation ceremonies at the auditorium. So many famous people have been there and now it’s gone and all we have is the film and memories. This is why I did what I do because in a blink of an eye they are gone forever

@@TheSteelCityStorm I regret only going to the Aud 1 time and not filming it more, just a few pics. Yes, that gas station is all but gone, it looked so cool when it was overgrown when it was still intact.
