Mate...just wanted to say from Oz that we love your laid back style and chilled approach. Loving your shots and locations...I really like the portrayal of dance in older, historic locations - such environments are difficult to find sometimes in Australia. In any case, thanks for your efforts and generosity in sharing your expertise and thoughts. Cheers...

Excellent work! I know you have been asked many times which Broncolor strobe and Canon model are you using please?
@Hkvisuals5 жыл бұрын
I am using Broncolor Siros L 800ws lights... and I used to work with a Canon 5D III now I sometimes rent the EOS R and Mark IV... but these days I am often Using the Fuji GFX50s
@mixc85 жыл бұрын
@@Hkvisuals I have been thinking about the Fuji GFX. I picked up the XH-1 a few months ago and really like the images the Fuji produces. But since I have the Hasselblad H5D it's hard for me the justify the cost. Paid $20K for the Hasselblad a few years back. But I do like the versatility of the Fuji so I may pull the trigger, deciding on the GFX 50 R or GFX 100. I have also been a medium format shooter for the most part and still shoot film from time to time.I own most all the major brands from Canon, Nikon, Sony ,Mamiya etc. Camera's are like children to me; they all have their different personalities :)

😍 Wow, again, once more: Man, this is really great stuff on this channel. Besides the superb images and hints, you have a killer cool background music. Can you link to it please. The behind the scenes clips also show how important it is to work with pros doing sport photography: they constantly can repeat the moves until best possible shot is in camera. Btw, checking your channel info: you're France based? Cool.

Thank you as always .... great video ...! I do have a question for you - Now, just to be clear - I have checked to see if you've answered this in the past, and I don't think you've addressed this before, so here goes. Following your amazing shots with a wide angle lens, I've sold my first child and bought a 16-35GM f/2.8 to help me create those environmental dance shots you do so exquisitely. Coming from a landscape background, I know that distortion is always a challenge with this type of glass. Do you have to pose/frame the dancer to take distortion into account, or is it handled in post? Thank you in advance ... Keep up the great work ..... :)
@Hkvisuals5 жыл бұрын
I've addressed this before, ha, ha! But no worries, In my video on Wide angle lenses... If you look closely at all the shots made at 24mm and wider, I usually center my model in the frame to minimise distortion. To make the shot interesting I usually play with symmetry. Bur sometimes I do want a bit of distortion... To give my dancer longer legs for example!

@@Hkvisuals How embarrassing for me ... lol. Ok, well thank you for responding. I've a shoot on Saturday with a dancer in a street with lots of umbrellas strung over it. Need to go wiiiide, so I'll keep your tips in mind. Thank you.

No one should hate on the gear you used, they should learn why you use them and pay attention to the product that your clients love. I'm a Hensel shooter and even such a low key brand gets hated on. Anything other than Chinese brands you'll get bashed for essentially.

I absolutely love your videos, but i have a question for you, and I mean no disrespect. I feel like with the flash the lighting is a bit too harsh. Is that on purpose? Could you get the same effect with a softer light?

If I may ask, what distance do you use from this modifier to the model? It looks rather small.
@CameraMystique5 жыл бұрын
Ok, I saw it now... never mind...
@Hkvisuals5 жыл бұрын
It is small! Which explains my conclusion and why I want to change for probably a bigger modifier. but to answer your question, as close as possible to my subject depending on what I am shooting (headshot or full body), for the entire body it's really difficult, I would say roughly around 2 meters away from my model if he/she is standing up...
