One Night Alone in the Snow

Still winter and I camp overnight in the open, with the mat and sleeping bag dug down in the snow, as a simple shelter for the wind. Everything gets frosty and damp during night as usual, but for one night it's ok. The place is Bottenviken, the Bothnian bay, covered with endless ice.

When I purchased my bags, I got the long ones so I could store my boots in the bottom of the bag at night so I wouldn't have to put on frozen boots in the morning. If I wore Sorrels, I'd just pull out the liners and put those in my bag. Glad you used the shovel Erik!!

Hi Erik. as we can see in your films most of the time you have binoculars with you. many years passed after i used my own. but some time ago (also your films contributed to this ;) ) i did grab binoculars and leave my camera at home. i tried just to enjoy nature. to be honest...its great feeling when you dont have to chase light, look for great composition, hoping for photogenic weather etc... just real pleasure with no stupid instagram facebook likes thumbs up and shit like that. all the best Erik!
