Wheat is used for cows and sheep. Seeds are for chickens. Carrots and potatoes for pigs. Golden apples and carrots for horses. 1 Space of water covers and fertilizes 8 blocks of dirt in every direction. Melons and pumpkins need a dirt block next to it for the actual block to grow next to the stem. You don’t need a gate for your farms. You can put a carpet down on the top of a fence post and jump onto it.

Create a smoker to cook food faster and a Blast Furnace to smelt ores faster. Also those dirt blocks need direct contact contact with a grass block to be able to make them the pathway block.

Josh you should see if your world has a woodland mansion as there can be some good loot in them. Also there's usually a library in them with lots of bookshelves so you could just nick those instead of making your own books.

Minecraft Tips for Josh (Like this so he can see!)- 1. Iron armour > Gold Armour, use gold for golden apples, golden carrots or rails instead. 2. Use your enchanting table more, make an enchanting room with bookshelves to get better enchants. 3. For melons and pumpkins to grow the seeds need to be on tilled land (hoed land) and there should be at least one block next to the tilled which is untilled and empty (melon will grow in this block). 4. You can automate a lot of your farms considering you already have a fair amount of Redstone at your base. An easy first farm would be a automated sugarcane farm (plenty of tutorials on KZbin, including one on my channel :P) 5. For your food situation you might want to make an auto cow cooker or auto chicken cooker ( super easy tutorials on youtube). 6. Make the zombie/skeleton spawner you found into an do farm for enchanting. 7. Have fun! You're doing great so far for someone who hasnt played in years and I'm thoroughly enjoying the series! 8. Do not go to the nether. You arent ready yet and odds are you will die and lose all your gear. 9. Mine at height Y= 11, this the best height for diamonds and lava caves. Mine in 2x2 lanes with gaps of 2 in between each lane for most resource coverage. Use F3 to figure out your co-ordinates. 10. You can lure pigs with carrots, chicken with seeds and sheep with wheat. 11. You can put chests one top of another and they will still open. You can also put signs on chests by clicking on the chest while holding a sign while holding the shift/sneak key.

Grass needs to be connected to the dirt to change the dirt on the path, and you can have an infinite water source by having a 3 block line and put water on both sides then you can take an unlimited amount of water from the middle

Episode ideas: 1.) Start Enchanting: Grind sugarcane (eventually automate) and cow farm to get a max 15 bookshelf enchanting system to start working on good gear/tools. 2.) Get to the nether: Inside the nether you can get easy xp from quarts and good loot from a nether fortress. Within the fortress you can get blaze rods and nether wart to start brewing, a skill necessary for idea 6 ;). 3.) Improve you house: Nothing stressful, just relaxing. 4.) Exploration: This could include finding villages, shipwrecks (which have decent early game loot), or anything you could think of. Just do some research before hand so we don’t end up with another desert temple incident. 5.) Getting Automated . I know it sounds very intimidating, but trust me. A tutorial for an auto-sugar cane farm is so simple and resource efficient. Another good one is an auto fishing farm, which can be made in 2 minutes. These allow you to afk grind and make improvements to your world. 6.) If your feeling ambitions, try getting villager trading operational. At 39:00, you killed a zombie villager. In version 1.14.1, you get reduced cost trades when you convert zombie villagers to normal villagers, which means easy loot. All you need is a splash potion of weakness (sounds hard but it’s fairly simple once you know how to brew) and a golden apple to convert him into a tradable villager. This may be a bit advanced now but will definitely help your series. Overall, I think streaming could be a good idea to get tips and tricks from viewers due to your inexperience with Minecraft. If you are opposed, just make sure your cautious with things and do your research. Try to have a clear purpose for each video, and plan ahead to have the supplies needed to accomplish that task. Love the series, keep it up!

Just some ideas : Build a balcony coming out of your chest room, decorate your bedroom, build a second floor on the inside of the mountain, get rid of the pressure plate on the outside of your door, if any mobs walk on it they’ll be able to get into your house, you can use lapis lazuli to enchant things and pumpkins and melons take up two blocks when fully grown so you’d need to make room for them.

For Future Episode(s): i would suggest making a load of books and getting an enchantment table sorted (you need at least 15 bookshelves placed around the enchantment table one block between the table and the shelves, in order to get the highest level enchants.) before you get maps from a cartographer villager. map locations take you to lots of loot and resources. Enchantments related to "protection" cannot be overlapped with different types of protection on the same armour piece (you'll see when you enchant). diamond has the most duribility which is why you got told not to use gold armour (its actually the weakest out of the 3 metals). make sure to take 2-3 pick axes, axes (depending on their durability) and have one set of armour on you while another is in a chest. ideally you'll want an armour set that has been enchanted to allow you to stay underwater for a long period of time and can reduce your damage to health from "laser beam" attacks and another that allows you to withstand axe attacks when you visit the cartographer's map locations.

I'm not gonna lie ... I would love an episode were you just make a huge farm area. Each crop having its own rows and stuff. Farming is one of my favorite things to do in the game. Also for the melons and the pumpkins, you need one row next to the seedling so it has somewhere to place the fruit when fully grown. Weirdly enough, i love this series hehe.

a few ideas for episodes and builds; 1) either get Vik on to help you with the spawners and farms or watch and copy a version from youtube 2) make a barn type outside building for an episode and create a farm inside there with haybales and wheat and dirt paths around, maybe watch petezahuts new cosmic sky series and his main island is the kinda scenery im depicting 3) only make a diamond armor set and start to put good enchantments on them, basically a god set. this'll include Protection IV on everything, Depth strider on your boots, unbreaking III on every armor pice, and use an armour stand to display the set too 4) make a grand hall inside your cliff, kind of like the dungeon where smaug lives in the hobbit 5) make yourself a treasury room, where you turn all your ores etc into blocks, so this is like coal blocks, iron blocks all the way to diamond and emerald blocks. just pt them in their own cubes or something so that you can show off to the audience 6) Make stables and capture loads of horses, then ask vikk to help you out with how to get the best horse e.g speed trial and block jumps

Love the series, and as for the suggestions you asked for, how about making a grand staircase by your bed to lead up to a second floor? Maybe put your enchanting room there and armoury. You could also go and explore for some bamboo, which is incredibly useful for both defensive measures and aesthetic appeal. It's also good fuel because it grows really fast and you can get a lot of it. And because the bamboo is mostly found in jungles, you could also try to find a jungle temple. Nevertheless, whatever you do wether it's building and improving your cave house or exploring would be amazing to watch. So please do more.
