Honestly when that bag of coins showed up i had 0 idea at all that it would trigger a robbery from Charon and I clicked it thinking oh nice i can borrow and then the music cut, charon turned around and I thought the game bugged, then when it got to the battle room i had to fight for my life because Charon is the most unpredictable fight i ever had, it cost me life saves and I barely made it with a pinch of health. Never again! But also super awesome fight to trigger.

For me it is no longer the oar that gets in my way, it's kind of telegraphed when he,ll swing at you, but his speed and the projectiles he fills the room with are the bane of my existance. That and his massive health pool. He's a big endurance fight and it shows. And you can't get comfortable either because that's when he clips you with the oar. At least in my case. I relax for a fraction of a second and he will smell my moment of weakness.

I do like how Charon almost seems to see the battles to the death as a playfight. Apparently he didn't get to play rough with his siblings growing up (due to being too powerful), so I imagine he just leaves the gold out as an invitation to play with Zag. I think Nyx mentions it after you fight him.

I would say maybe both ? Take chaos for example, there's chaos as the entity, and the place itself is called chaos. I'd say maybe erebus lets charon borrow the place from time to time, maybe rest, or even beat Zags ass

I think all enemies have access to it, there are Erebus gates which take you here and you have to fight waves of enemies. It says it's where the enemies gather before they are sent by hades to stop you.

Erebus is both a place and a god. Just like Chaos as mentioned by an earlier comment, and even like Hades himself (Hades is also one of the names of the Underworld). Styx is both a goddess and a river too.

I've played about 90 hours, completed the Good Ending and gotten most characters maxed out but I've never seen that bag of gold, or maybe not noticed it early on. :( Admittedly I ususally choose free booms over Charon's shop to save money for the titan blood/diamond. I was tempted to do more Charon's Shop just for the chance of battling him but it's too rare

First time it happened, I didn't know it would trigger a fight, thought I could borrow/owe him. I was STRUGGLING to keep alive 😭😭. Almost in a panic trying to hit him without getting hit (failed!). I couldn't predict his attack pattern at all my first fight(s). Felt like he barely gave me a window to reposition before I could hit him, and far too soon he was attacking again. Last time I tried it, I survived well enough but I was playing it super safe and it took me a while to get out of there 😂.

The VA is the guy that did the music. Most of the voicework was done in house by the devs save for them hiring a VA for Hades. So…yeah, they didn’t have much of a budget. But I think it adds to the charm
