Guys get this. I fell in love with norm’s work from watching KZbin clips of him. I would obsessively watch his standup and podcast clips. I even found his old standup specials on DVD. One day I decided that I would drive all the way from Richmond, VA to the Wilbur theater in Boston, MA to see him (believe it or not it was the closest upcoming show). I bought tickets for his show there in October, 2021 to see my hero. And then in September he died. While at first I was devastated, eventually I found it to be hilarious. Getting geared up to meet a hero and then he suddenly dies sounds like a Norm bit, so I’ll take it. It’s almost as good as seeing him live!

God Willing, it Will be the year. The last time Norm Macdonald came to Boston i missed him. A client who saw him said it was sad because everyone left the room, (which, made me smile and really wished i was there) Norm said, real comics referred to it as "walking the room." A right of passage. So when you do try, remember, the greatest thing to happen to an aspiring or famous comedian is not only to have the crowd turn on you, but to get up and leave. LOL. Norm said he loved it when that would happen because it made the great nights feel that much greater. Plus he found it funny. Watching a happy room slowly turn into an unruly mob. 😂 Regret is so much worse than rejection. And Norm said he had no regrets about his life. Either way, you cant take life too seriously, you'll never make it out alive. God Bless man ! 🙏

He had a beautiful way of letting people know his views on faith, his mother, and his own imminent death in this monologue while still keeping it funny. There is so much personal truth packed into this. He's able to talk about things that mattered deeply to him, while keeping it light. The casual listener will think the parts about his mom, his funeral, and his faith were just bits, but they're clearly expressions of Norm's deeper thoughts and highlight where his mind was at. God bless you, Norm. You've become an example to me in my life, of how to cling to hope and light when everything around you seems otherwise.

I love when a joke connects so personally. When I was 10 years old my mom took me to Hollywood, great choice. We walked up and there was a guy barfing on a star and I leaned over to read Bob Hope. I guess he was in a good spot

Hey Norm, I got tickets to one of your next shows! I sure hope you're in Heaven because I'll be pretty disappointed if I end up in New Jersey.

I'm only taking to myself here, but this set is gonna be a massive part of the doco/s coming our way. I wish the Dave/Dave/Conan/forget the other one video where they watched his last to-webcam recording were reacting to this instead.

It took me way too long to appreciate how smart he is. So funny and nonchalant.

That's the thing about truly great genious comedians. You can honestly make the comparison to a great athlete who doesn't need to bring attention to themselves. (Barry Sanders) is a great example of that analogy. The cream rises to the top!

Amazing how a great comedian is able to bring people together. If you study his comedy, there's a sparkle in his eye. Just like an ornery kid😂

"The spine of my campaign!" Goodness I love it. More political than I've ever heard him, but Norm still kept it apolitical. RIP GOAT

One of my favorite things is that you can hear different people in the audience really get one joke or another. Norm!

"I'm dumb compared to Bill Maher, obviously... who isn't? " Norm flew a joke right under the audience's radar.

Norm has said that he does not like it when a comic’s aim is to be perceived as intelligent, instead of trying to make people laugh and to entertain. He spoke about Bill Maher as his chief example of a comic whose main goal is to be perceived as being smart. Norm’s own mental prowess dwarfed Maher’s and Norm preferred to play down his intelligence so as not to intimidate or exclude anyone. He didn’t even look down on Down’s Syndrome.
