Too bad they stop support for their older products, the OG sn30/ sf30 (the ones that were clones of an snes/ super famicom controllers) no longer work with switch, not even using their 8bitdo controller adapter (wifh claims to work with all 8bitdo controllers) Meaning that at one point the controllers 8bitdo no longer update will stop working with switch.

I can't really justify buying another SN30 Pro (I already have three), but I like the look of the Jade Green one. And it's a small detail, but I think the gold text works well with that green. I think that combination might increase its appeal for Zelda fans even though it's not technically a Zelda-themed controller. For anyone who may not have used one of these controllers, I can say that it's surprisingly comfortable for first-person and third-person shooters. The sides of the controllers rest nicely on the joint at the base of each index finger as you use the analog sticks and trigger buttons. And that SNES-style d-pad obviously makes the SN30 Pro a great choice for side-scrollers. The only game I don't like this controller for is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Holding the A button while trying to use the right trigger for drifting is uncomfortable for me on the SN30 Pro.

I love my 8bitdo Ultimate for stuff like that. For example, SD Gundam Battle Assault, The "Boost/Dash/Dodge" button is A and your attack buttons are the other three, so trying to combo correctly and dodge accurately and simultaneously is near impossible, but remap one of the back bumper triggers, and you can use it as your dash button and never have to slide to "A" to do any of the fancy stuff. It almost made the game too easy after that. Another thing with those back buttons, Stuff like Metroid Dread. You want to spam your fire button sometimes, and others you want to hold and charge. The times rapid fire is more useful are WAY more prevalent, so using the ultimate software to set rapid fire on the shoot button for that back trigger, you can again still jump and dodge ect while not wearing your thumb out rapid smashing the button.

I got the Jade Green 7 days ago now. Instantly underwhelmed by the Dpad. Coming from the 2DSXL, which has the best possible Dpad ever, the 8BitDo Dpad is just meh. It's great for JRPGs, which I bought it for. But fighting games and platformers, I wouldn't recommend at all Squishy, stiff, whole dpad can be pushed in a little in the center, left/right inputs an up or down almost erry time when sliding side-to-side. The texture isn't smooth, either, making it a bit too grippy. Might just be me since I'm used to the glossy, smooth, clicky Dpad of the 2DSXL

Should have cleared it up that D-input mode is for old games on PC. So if you play any games before the 360 days, they're bound to support D input. The first 3D GTA games come to mind and also I know they're not very popular but if you have played the original releases of the Devil May Cry series upto 3 SE or Resident Evil 4 (I say not popular because most people just emulate the console versions or play the re-releases), they only accept D-input and connecting an XBOX controller or other X-input device will not work.

@@ZulqarnainAidil If you need to "look down" or "glance" at a controller to locate buttons your issue is not with the controller but your own fine motor skills. Most people use a thing called muscle memory. Look it up. "What Is Muscle Memory? Muscle memory is a neurological process that allows you to remember certain motor skills and perform them without conscious effort. Skill retention from muscle memory can potentially last forever, barring any neurological or physical ailments..." When you see a Pro gamer do some Crazy trick reflex shot that looks inhuman, this is what they are using. This is also what people use to perform things like Martial Arts.. or Pro Basket Ball and Football or Soccer (if you are on that side of the planet). @virtualspace4882 Жыл бұрын
what do you mean the 'correct button placement'? That is the 'CORRECT' one. The SN30 pro stands for Super Nintendo. It's a recreation/homage of the SNES and FamiCom controller. And as for the reasons for the other ones you mentioned, Money of course. Why would they put all of that when they already provide that features in their other product? You want all the bells and whistle? Grab the 8bitDo Ultimate Controller. You want a smaller/mobile with a bit cheaper price? Grab this one.
@vargsieber Жыл бұрын
@@virtualspace4882 loop up the Xbox branded version, you'll understand after seeing it, almost every device that isn't made by Nintendo recognises the button inputs like it would be an Xbox controller, so printing the Nintendo layout on it is just wrong. Depending on how you use the controller analogue triggers can be more useful than rumble, so I'd rather have those instead. PC software support should be a thing, I mean sure the OG SN30 pro didn't have it, but since they launched the app it shouldn't be a problem for newer ones to be compatible, the Xbox branded version is too.

@alvallac2171 Жыл бұрын
These particular controllers are designed for pocketability, so they're meant for gaming on the go. If you want something for gaming mostly at home, you'll want something with grips instead, because it's more comfortable to hold. You should also consider whether you'll be playing mostly 2D games or mostly 3D games, because that determines whether you'll want the D-pad or the left analog stick to be in the primary position (i.e. on top, to be within easy reach of your left thumb). If you'll mostly play 2D games, 8BitDo Pro 2 is good. If you'll mostly play 3D games, either 8BitDo Ultimate or Microsoft' s official Xbox Controller are good. To be clear, all three of those are _capable_ of both 2D and 3D gaming, so it's about price, availability, features, comfort, and personal preference. 8BitDo controllers have excellent D-pads, which is important for 2D gaming.
